The full blown laugh that erupted from Mick's chest was enough to startle Ashes out of his sleep, but only for a moment. Moving up onto Mick's shoulder to curl up against his neck, his fur tickling the sensitive skin there. "I don't know what's more amusing...that pun, or how proud of yourself you are." Mick barked. His partner's habit of puns and winning speeches forever a blessing and a curse.
The grin on Mick's face stayed put at Len's easy compliance to stay over. With the promise of breakfast of course. Though Mick could hardly complain. "Fair enough." The only words he offered up on the subject. His mind going back to the cat and what Len was saying. "Another thing we have on common." Mick joked about he and the kitten's nature to mark their territory, giving Len a pointed look. Not because he thought he owned Len in any way, but that sure didn't stop him from leaving his mark on him. He chuckled again low in this throat before making a move to get himself up off the couch. First picking up Ashes from his neck and caring him while he uncurled himself away from Len to stand up on his feet. "Come on." Mick told him, reaching a hand down to help pull Len up on his feet.
"Help me set up his stuff so I can shower and you can sleep." He said, seeing how ready Len was to passing out. Mick wasn't far behind him, but he was concerned about the kitten and making sure he had everything he needed ready. Plus, as much as he didn't mind the smell of motor oil and gasoline, his body still felt sticky from the heat and sweat of the days work. Knowing he'd sleep much better after a hot shower.
Once they were both up, he lead the way into the bathroom where he took inventory of all the things Len had brought over, Ashes still in his hand. Looking a bit lost as what to do next. Seeing the bowls, he bent to pick one up and fill it with water, setting it and the kitten down out of the way, watching as Ashes took a few timid steps towards it before lapping it up like a camel in the desert. "Well someone was thirsty."
