I honestly can't believe shoddy journalism sometimes. The fact that something like that could make headline news is beyond me. There are clearly factors not being taken into account, like temperament upon arrest and within the courtroom. Criminals who resist arrest and are belligerent with prosecutors and judges are far more likely to see a conviction. People are released early for good behavior. I'm sure anybody could find another strange correlation if they looked hard enough. People who like their eggs scrambled are far more likely to be convicted of violent crimes. There. Do you see how ridiculous that sounds?
