Kaoru & Mana: Beneath the Wisteria [PG]
Making his way from the kitchen and up to the vampire's bedroom, Kaoru looked to his clock to make sure that it was noon. The sun would be highest in the sky which meant the safest fort he vampire to come out with his umbrella since the sun wouldn't be coming in from a different direction to get him. He stopped outside of Mana's door, listening for any movement on the inside before knocking. His tail curled tighter around the handle of the wicker picnic basket as he waited for a response.
Mana yawned a bit as he walked to the door to see who was there, though he was sure it was Kaoru since the cat asked him to stay up until this hour for some reason. Not that he minded of course. He opened the door and smiled softly to the other.
"Hey," he said, a light purr to his tone as he leaned in and placed a sweet kiss on the vampire's lips. "Come to the garden with me~"
He returned the kiss and responded. "Oh is that where we're going?" he said as he turned back into his room to get his umbrella.
"Yes," he said, smiling at him. "I had Yue fix something for me but I also have something else to show you." He watched Mana go into his room to get his umbrella.
The vampire picked up his umbrella and tucked it in his arm as he then picked up his gloves which he put on as he walked back to the door. "Oh really? I'm curious now." he said with a soft smile.
The man's lips curved, glad that he had the vampire's curiosity. "Let's get going then," he said, leading the vampire toward the stairs.
Mana closed the door behind him and followed the other towards the stairs as they made their way to the gardens.
It wasn't long before the two were passing through the door at the back and outside in the warm yet breezy weather. "It's such a nice day today," he said, tail swaying as best as it could as he continued to have his tail carry the picnic basket. "A request came in from Aya and I spoke with Yue about it to see if he would be alright with it..." He lead Mana further through the garden, going to the side and turned the corner of Jamais to a construction site that was near to being finished. "A greenhouse," he said. "With a sitting area that is lit but the rays of the sun are blocked."
It had been a while since Mana was out in the daylight so he was certainly enjoying the view. "Oh a greenhouse." he said, tilting his head a bit as he looked at it, stepping about a little to see different parts and angles of it. "That's really nice. I'd like to see it when it's finished and it's filled with plants."
Kaoru smiled some and reached out, touching the vampire's shoulder. "But that's not all I wanted to show you."
He blinked and looked to Kaoru curiously.
"Come this way," he said. He wanted to take Mana's hand in his but didn't want to chance the vampire getting burned. He could only assume that it would hurt. He lead Mana deeper into the garden, past the entrance to the growing labyrinth and to the side where it was dark and smelled strongly of wisteria.
Mana naturally followed and looked around at the scenery as they walked deeper into the garden. "Has this always been here?" he thought aloud, not ever really spending much time outside in either daytime or nighttime.
"Yue started on the labyrinth before the first snow fall," he said, continuing to walk past before stopping in front of a pond and looked to the left to where a large wall of wisteria was. "This is what I had Yue fix up for me," he said, slipping his arm around Mana's waist as he stayed with the vampire beneath the umbrella and walked with him closer to the wisteria.
He stopped where Kaoru stopped and looked up at the wall, then continuing to walk towards it. "Wow, it's very pretty."
Once they were close enough to it, he reached out and pulled the wall of wisteria to the side to expose that it wasn't a wall but simply a veil that kept an area hidden. "These are flowers that only bloom in the dark," he said, pointing to the flowers that lined the stone pathway that lead to a large grassy area that had a picnic blanket already laid out. "Let's have lunch"
The vampire's brows raised in surprise. "So this is the kind of thing you're up to when I'm not around." he joked with a smile.
Kaoru laughed. "Yeah, I suppose you could say that." He leaned in, giving him a soft kiss on his lips.
Mana laughed as well and kissed him back. He then looked around and saw that there was little to no sunlight in the area and poked his head out slightly from under the umbrella. "Is it safe?"
"Yeah," he said, smiling. "Yue put up a black netting that helps keep the sun out even if the wisteria is moved from a strong enough breeze."
With that he took his umbrella, a tiny bit warily, and pulled it closed. It was slightly odd not having his umbrella out in the daylight or not being under some shade from a building of some sort. And then he went ahead and began taking off his gloves as he stepped over to the picnic blanket.
Kaoru watched Mana move with hesitancy but smiled once the vampire's gloves were off and his umbrella closed. He moved forward, setting the basket down in the center of the blanket before kneeling and going about pulling out the sandwiches he had made along with the shrimp pasta salad and other things he had prepared for lunch by himself while Aya was off with the tiger.
Mana kneeled down and got comfortable on the blanket, watching Kaoru rustle with his food for a moment before looking over to the flowers and plants and just enjoying the view.
It wasn't long before he had everything out including the bottle of wine and the two wine glasses. "Want to eat with me today?" he asked. "I'll let you drink all you wnt later tonight~"
Mana chuckled softly. "Sure." he answered watching the other.
Kaoru smiled some, pulling out two plates and handed one to his lover along with the sandwich he had made for him. "It's turkey. I hope you like it," he said, licking his lips as he opened his own sandwich and set it out on his plate before he opened the container of the shrimp pasta salad.
He eyed the sandwich as he shifted a bit before picking it up. "Did you make it yourself?" he asked as smelled it curiously.
"Yeah," he said, blushing a little. "Aya was off with Koyasu so I made this all by myself."
The vampire smiled softly at Kaoru's blush and took a small bite. Eating actual food didn't do anything for him but he wanted the other to enjoy the picnic he made for the both of them.
"Does it taste alright?" he asked, scooping himself some of the shrimp pasta salad before looking to Mana. "Want a little?" he asked.
He nodded even though he couldn't really think anything of the taste and looked to the pasta salad. "No, you go ahead." he answered softly, not wanting to take a chance and ingest too much food.
He nodded some, covering the salad back up and worked on eating his food. After a few moments of eating his food, he looked to the side and smiled at him. "You don't have to eat all of it."
Mana smiled back at him. "Well you made it so I want to." he said with a little laugh, almost halfway done with the sandwich at that point.
The smile stayed on his face and he laughed softly, shaking his head as he polished off his sandwich and started on his shrimp pasta salad. "Oh, I have my blueray stuff hooked up," he said. "Would you want to come watch a movie with me tonight after we get some work done?"
"Sounds like a plan." he answered, now at the last bites of his sandwich. "I'd like to get some sleep before work."
"I'm sorry for having asked you to stay up for so long," he said before shoving a spoonful of food in his mouth. He held the spoon in his mouth before reaching to the wine bottle in the basket and pulled it out along with the corkscrew.
Mana finished off his sandwich before replying. "Oh it's okay, I'm enjoying this." he replied with a smile to the other.
The snow leopard smiled, glad to hear that the vampire was enjoying himself. "Next time we come out here, I won't give you food," he said, laughing a little. "Well, not my kind of food."
Mana laughed a bit as he watched the other prepare the wine glasses. "Sure."
Having filled the wine glasses, he handed one over to Mana that had the least amount in it. Two sips at most for the vampire since he had already ingested a sandwich. "What movie would you like to watch later tonight?"
He took the wine glass and sniffed it a little before taking a little sip. "What movies do you have?"
"Hmmm... Hitman, that movie where the rat can good...A whole bunch of other things," he said, sipping his own wine.
"Oh okay. I'm up for anything." he replied, lightly swirling his wine glass.
"We saw the rat movie in Paris, didn't we?" he asked as he looked to him.
The vampire tilted his head as he tried to remember. "We did actually, now that you mention it." he answered, feeling like it was ages ago that they were there.
"We can watch Hitman first and then we can watch the rat movie," he said, nodding his head as he took another sip of his wine. "Mmm... this was a good year," he murmured, referring to the bottle of wine he was drinking.
He nodded in agreement and also took a sip, a tiny one, and looked to the wine bottle when Kaoru commented on it, pulling the bottle closer so he could read the label.
"1825," he said, leaning back as he stared up at the wisteria overhead. "Mmm.. it smells really nice in here."
Mana nodded in confirmation when he saw the year on the label and put the bottle aside again. He brought his glass to lips to take another small sip. "It does." he agreed as he looked up as well.
Kaoru looked over to him, smiling. "Well, are you ready for sleep yet?" he asked.
Mana nodded and smiled back to Kaoru. "Will you be working on something or did you want to join me?"
"I'd love to take a nap with you," he said, his tone taking a sweet purr to it as he smiled to him.
"Okay then." he answered still smiling before finishing off his wine.
"Are we ready to go to your room?" he asked as he started to pack up the remaining food that he was going to drop off in the kitchen.
"Mhmm." he answered as he helped Kaoru put everything back into the basket before getting up.
It wasn't long before they had everything packed away in the basket. Kaoru stood up, looking to the picnic blanket before he gathered it up and folded it up as well.
The vampire looked around to make sure they didn't forget everything and began walking with the other toward the way they came, putting on his gloves and opening his umbrella.
Looking back, Kaoru made sure that Mana was all ready and pulled the wisteria to the side to let the vampire out first. "After you," he said.
He softly thanked Kaoru and went out of their little hiding spot of sorts into the forest, waiting for the other to come out as well and lead the way back to the mansion.
With Mana out, Kaoru slipped out from behind the wisteria and let it fall back into place. "We'll go in through the back door so I can put this stuff in the kitchen," he said.
Mana nodded and waited for Kaoru to begin walking, following beside him as they soon made their way out of the forest and back into the garden and eventually to the back door of the mansion.
As soon as they were inside, Kaoru stashed the picnic basket into the extra fridge and set the picnic cloth over the basket as well. "Might as well give Aya extra work for playing while he's supposed to be working," he said, laughing a little.
He smiled a bit and waited for Kaoru before turning to leave the kitchen to head for his room.
"It seems that we keep taking naps together," he said as he walked a little faster to catch up to the vampire before they started up the stairs. "I'm not complaining," he said. "Don't get me wrong. I'm just stating a fact. A fact that I enjoy."
Mana laughed. "It seems so, and I enjoy it as well." he replied as they walked up the stairs.
Kaoru continued to follow the vampire up the stairs, enjoying his presence as they neared Mana's room. "What side of the bed do you want?" he asked, laughing a little.
"Whichever part you don't want? I'm not picky." he answered with a little laugh as well as they came up to the door and the vampire let them both in.
"Personally, I like the middle," he said, laughing as he stepped into the vampire's room and slipped his shoes off.
Mana laughed as he took off his shoes too. "So where does that leave me?" he asked as he put away his umbrella and took off his gloves.
"On top of me?" He laughed, slipping out of his over shirt so he was just in a tight fitting t-shirt. "Or I can sleep on top of you."
He laughed again as he made his way to the bedroom so he could change. "Either works."
Kaoru chuckled, nodding as he stepped into Mana's bedroom. "Mmm... clothes or no clothes? I don't want to get your bed dirty."
"Whatever you're comfortable with." he answered as he changed into sleeping clothes.
"I think... I'll sleep naked," he said as he pulled his shirt off from over his head and dropped it to the floor.
"Okay." he said simply as he went over to the bed and climbed onto it.
With his shirt off, he soon dropped his pants and stood there in his underwear before he decided to leave them on. He followed after the vampire, climbing onto the bed and curled in against him with his tail wrapping around Mana's thigh that was nearest to him.
Mana brought an arm around Kaoru as he nuzzled against him and got comfortable, closing his eyes to welcome sleep.
