Jack was certainly taken back by this sudden change of events. He had duties to live up to back home, but then again apparently he had been given some here as well. Of course there was also the fact that Phryne was here now as well. That alone made him not want to leave this place just yet. And of course if ever did find a way out of here he wouldn't leave without her. He had been so sure that he would never love another woman after his wife, but Phryne had slowly crept her way into his heart. Of course he hadn't admitted those feelings to anyone, yet alone her. He knew the kind of life she led, and with all the men chasing her he was sure she would never be happy with just him. That didn't stop him from longing to be in her presence though. It seemed like every time he was around she just drew him in more and more. Of course she seemed to already know that she had him wrapped around her little pinky finger. He just couldn't help himself. She would look at him a certain way or say a certain thing then he would just cave. Of course he put on the show of putting up a fight, but in the end she always gets what she wants. He also tended to worry about her....probably more than even she realized. She was the type that lived life to the fullest, and while he admired her for that he knew that sometimes it also got her into trouble....trouble he usually had to get her out of. This was yet another situation where she would probably find herself in trouble at some point. This wasn't the world they were used to and Phryhe was known for learning the rules just so she could break them. He admired her fire and her spirit, so he never judged her for it. But it sometimes got him into trouble. At least he knew for sure his life would never been boring with her around. If he were honest with himself he welcomed. For the first time in a long time he felt alive and he never wanted it to go away. He found her chambers quick enough. It seemed this world knew him well and knew he would be looking for her, because the information had been on his scroll. When he came to her room he knocked lightly on her door and then leaned against the door frame to wait. He could hear her moving about in the room and he found himself wishing he could see through walls. He always enjoyed watching her when he knew she wasn't looking at him. Granted it didn't happen often, but he had a few chances in the past. She was always so graceful. The way she moved made him adore her all the more. |
