Charles smiles at a few lovely ladies sitting on the side as he starts a stroll around the room. Snatching bits of conversation audibly and from the minds around him.
It was becoming increasingly apparent that there were some curious glances his way, different thoughts on the subject. Charles didn't want to be too much of the center of attention so after a moment, he motions as if scratching the side of his head and fades to the background a bit for the more curious of the people watching him. That should do for the rest of the night, he wouldn't want to cause a time paradox after all.
It seemed an appropriate time to socialize and luckily there's a lady standing all by herself close by. It may be vain of Charles to think he can pick up a date in any century, but he sure does love a challenge.
He sidles up to her with a charming smile. "Mind if I join you?" By joining, he means in watching the room because that's what she seems to be occupied in doing.
