Alec followed after Max readily, paying absolutely zero attention to anyone they passed in the streets as they made their way back to her place. It seemed impossibly far as they went and Alec had to fight the urge to just haul her into any number of the buildings they breezed passed. They could kick out whoever was in there, right? He managed to keep himself in check, trying not to think of the way his heart was hammering in his chest as they got closer and closer to their destination. He needed to touch her, to kiss her. Just the trip back to her townhome had been far too long of a time period where he was unable to kiss Max. He never thought he would ever feel that way about the brunette, but Alec couldn't imagine ever not feeling this way. It was too intense, like some kind of drug that gave him a high he never wanted to come down from.
As soon as they were across the threshold, Max's arms were around his neck and Alec pulled her to him, lips finding hers immediately. He shrugged out of the jacket he had been wearing - stupidly, considering how it was just one layer of clothing more than he wanted between the two of them. Despite the temperature, Alec had worn it because he knew it made him look cool, now it was just a nuisance as he slipped out of it and tossed it... somewhere, the floor maybe, and his hands went to frame Max's face as he kissed her.
Ever since he'd met her, Alec had been at her beck and call. For all his swaggering and cockiness, Alec was still caught up in Max's spell, though he never would have admitted it. Until now, anyway. He was still just as caught up, but in a completely different way. He dropped his hands, moving to push them underneath her shirt, fingers sliding across her bare skin. He broke away to breath, though only for a moment, before Alec dipped his head, mouth moving over Max's neck as he slid his hand upward over her ribcage, fingers splaying across her smooth skin.
"So you wanna come up with the safe word or should I?" he said, using the suggestive tease to try and shake himself out of the sudden compulsion that nearly overwhelmed him to declare his love for her. Alec's own self-consciousness couldn't handle saying such a thing out loud, and so he fell back on jokes. Though the ardent way he kissed her after it was made gave him away all the same.
