MANDIE + MARCUS
With her suitcase propped up in her lap, she rested her chin on the top, the handle no doubt making a mark on the underside of her neck. Not that it appeared that looks were going to be a huge thing to worry about around here. Just man-eating dinosaurs. And whatever else was on this island that could kill them. Would she rather starve or be eaten? Or a bullet to the head to avoid the pain? Her eyes roamed over Marcus, wondering if he was carrying any other guns or if it was just the one.
"I think this is a bit out of everyone's comfort zone. The only dinosaurs I've ever encountered were in a book. Or my stuffed Brontosaurus." Everyone knew they were out there. What happened with the Park now twice? Oh yeah, it had been global news. Even people who had been living under a rock or some tiny bumpkin town knew about Jurassic World. It was no secret. Not anymore. Still, she would have much rather have had her first encounter with dinosaurs be a bit more ... safe.
"What, you don't usually meet women running up trees? That's how I meet guys. Trick is making sure they can't get down." A joke. Maybe a poor one but hey, she was at least being social. Didn't the attempt count?
Now the problem was becoming a waiting game. Did they stay in the tree and see if the Spinosaurs moved on? What if they found them? Could they climb trees? They were both pretty high, nearly thirty feet up into the air. Those Spinosaurs were pretty tall but not that tall. "You don't happen to have any ideas, do you? I'm fresh out. Unless climbing higher and living the rest of my life as a squirrel counts."
