Re: MANDIE + MARCUS
Dinosaurs. Of course it had to be dinosaurs. He was old enough to remember well the initial chaos created by Jurassic Park and had thought Jurassic World was a horrible idea when it opened over a decade later. There was just something about playing God and trying to manipulate nature that had always seemed inherently wrong with him and he had never wanted any part of it. The closest he had ever come to visiting was on planes destined for Jurassic World but even then, he had not gone any further than the airport.
And sure enough Jurassic World had gone the way of its predecessor and now despite his efforts to avoid being caught up in any of it he was up in a tree, listening to the screams of people being devoured below and knowing there was not a thing that he could do about it.
He used the blonde as a necessary distraction, not at all missing how she did not respond to his suggestion until her suitcase was secure with her, which told him that there was something valuable in there. And whether it was simply valuable to her or really contained some form of material wealth he could have cared less... but he could understand her trying to hold onto what she had left.
"You're welcome." At her question he just nodded at first until he realized she wanted details. "You really want to know?" Of course she did. "The ones being chased were almost twice again my height along their backs but their necks were long, like a giraffe. The ones chasing them were a little bigger with shorter necks but huge, long jaws full of teeth with fins on their backs."
He looked up over his shoulder at her. "Basically the creatures to occupy this nightmare." As he looked down again he added, "Name's Powell. Marcus Powell. I was one of the Air Marshal's on our flight."
