MANDIE + MARCUS
"Dinosaurs. There are actual dinosaurs. I just saw them. Real dinosaurs," Mandie mumbled to herself as she climbed. It was so unreal to see them. Even if her only glance was from over her shoulder and while running. Every now and then, in spite of the danger, she would stop and look back to the crash site and anywhere else there was movement, just to catch a glimpse of the amazing creatures. Though the roars and howls of the ones currently eating out the inside of the plane, and the poor souls who had run in there, kept reminding her to keep climbing.
While she wasn't used to climbing with a lot of weight, she wasn't about to let that hold her back. She was a workhorse, driven to see the job through, even to the point that it could kill her. Blame her stubborn nature on genetics. So when he suggested that she drop her suitcase or hand it over to him, Mandie said nothing in response at first until she was high enough to rest up against the trunk, on top of a thick branch and pull the suitcase up into her lap. "I've got it, thanks."
When the other guy was high enough that he could also take a brief breather, both of them with their eyes back to the plane and its current and very large and menacing-looking inhabitants, Mandie cleared her throat. "Thanks for the boost earlier too. These trees are taller than the ones I grew up with." She was a bit out of breath, what with the running and the climbing and the panic about being eaten alive. Then, because she couldn't help herself and she had to know, she asked- "Did you see them? Did you see what they looked like?" Mandie lifted her hand out toward what was left of their plane. "The dinosuars, I mean."
