MANDIE + open
She had been focusing on fishing for the most part. while there was still a bit of food, there was also a lot of people and who knew how long those airplane meals would last. Mandie didn't want to eat up her bars and the other little nibbles that she brought just yet. Not until it was absolutely necessary, which she hoped it wouldn't turn out to be. Better to stick to relying as much as she could on the wild. The water was fine enough to drink too, as long as it was boiled up. Someone had started a little fire when they had woken up, so that was helpful. Everyone else was still settling, groggy from the long night.
When it first started, she assumed it was an earthquake. The loud but steady rumble confused her so she stood up from her spot, looking around to see what was going on. When she saw the dust cloud, she thought it weird. The sounds that came with it? Even stranger. By the time that she, and everyone else, realized what it was and that it was coming for them? It was too late. At first, she was too stunned by the sight of dinosaurs. Living. Breathing. Screaming. Running and stampeding to do anything but stare. Then a bunch of people ran past her, throwing her off her feet. That was when instinct took over.
Safety.
She had to get out of here. With just enough time to grab her backpack and suitcase, she hauled ass toward the treeline. Whatever fish she had gotten was left behind. There wasn't a moment to spare. By the time she got to the trees, with everyone running in every direction, Mandie picked the sturdiest looking tree and started climbing.
