Daphne was surprised to find that, after waking from her nap, she felt all right for the first time in a week. Not only was Verity back home, but she was no longer in relationship limbo with Dean. Sure, Daphne had a new set or worries concerning Verity, but at least she wasn't with that scumbag Carmichael anymore. And Daphne was a little upset about the way things turned out with Dean, but she knew it was for the best.
She took a shower and got herself a little done up for the coffee with Astoria. Daphne kept her hair blonde - she saw the brown hair as a form of admitting defeat at this point - and wore a pair of skinny jeans, boots and blue sweater. It was different from how she normally dressed, but Daphne decided that things were going to be different from now on. She arrived at Baxter's Bakery early, and sat at a table by the window sipping a latte while she waited for Astoria to arrive. Most of the other patrons were content to leave her alone until a reporter came up to her wanting her to make a comment on the Verity situation. No one else knew (other than Astoria, Kherrie, and the Wood family) that she was staying there, but it wasn't a secret that Daphne was very good friends with Verity and Oliver. She simply told the reporter that she had no comment and ignored him, though she was greatly tempted to tell him to fuck off. Daphne smiled at herself, pleased by her restraint.
As pleased as Daphne was to be out to have coffee with her sister, there was a part of her that greatly wanted to return to Scotland as soon as possible. She felt it was her duty to keep an eye on Oliver now, and she was worried that he might do something foolish. Though she had enough faith in Mrs Wood to know that she would keep her son in check, and make sure that everything would be all right there.
