WHO: Jimmy Boudreaux, Davi Alizadeh
WHAT: Jimmy finds out about VU.
WHEN: Friday, June 28, evening (backdated)
WHERE: Down by the lake...in one of those secret spots...
WARNINGS: None
STATUS: Complete
“Davi?” Jimmy said, spotting his roommate on the path near the lake. His roommate had asked him to meet him but hadn’t said why he wanted to meet him. But considering Davi’s mood lately, Jimmy figured there had to be some kinda reason. So here he was. His mood was a very good indication of why he wanted to meet his roommate, though Davi was pretty sure Jimmy had really no idea of what he was about to tell him. Times were becoming dire and he had to warn his roommate (and by extension Leigh) about everything that was happening for their own safety. After everything he had done for him, it was the very least he could do in return. When he heard his roommate speak, he jumped slightly before reaching out with his powers to see if anyone else was in the area. They were safe for the time being. “Jimmy. I’m getting right to the point here. There’s a lot of shit I need to tell you.” He hadn’t meant to scare Davi. In fact, he thought he’d made his regular amount of noise as he walked here. That, along with his roommate’s tone, really made him wonder what was up. “Okay,” he said slowly, waiting for the other fella to continue. “To make a long story short, there is an underground organization going on of people who are sick of IVI’s shit. They figured out a way to post without the school seeing. We’ve been training with our powers. Recently it was found out that IVF passed a secret resolution that allows testing and even execution of Vols they consider to be a threat. I’m inviting you to this organization because I want you to be in the loop and know the plan when shit goes down.” Only then did Davi finally take a breath. If his roommate hadn’t looked so dang serious, Jimmy woulda laughed and asked if he was joshing. Because all of that? Well, it sounded kinda crazy. Like something from a movie. Course most of what had happened to them in the past few months sounded like something from a movie, too. So he was quiet for several minutes, trying to take in what Davi had said. And trying to figure out what to say first. Deciding to start with the scariest part first, he finally said, “They’s gonna execute Vols they, what, don’ like? Where’d ya hear that? Mebbe it ain’t true.” Part of him knew that it was though. After all, they’d throwed people in solitary for no real reason. It did sound crazy. Then again they were at the dystopian version of Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters in the middle of the Australian Outback, so crazy was a bit of a relative term here. “Yeah. That’s what I said,” Davi answered quickly as he tried to hide the annoyance in his voice. “Eli linked up to Rathborne and he heard it in the trainer’s lunch room or wherever. They were all discussing it. It’s true.” He opened his mouth, to ask another question, but had no idea what to ask. Honestly, he had no idea what to say. “I - I...” He laughed but there wasn’t anything funny bout any of this. He pulled his hat off and twisted it in his hands just so he’d have something to do. “Ain’t sure zackly what to say right now,” he admitted. Then he shook his head. This were happening, whether he wanted it to or not. “Okay,” he said, jamming the hat back onto his head. “Who all’s in this group? Side from ya?” “Yeah. I know,” Davi answered as he ignored the laugh he assumed was based on nervousness. “God. At this point, I am willing to bet at least half the school. Enver is in and so is a lot of my class. It was Cati, Hunter, and Mason’s idea. Daisy and Rose made the undernet server.” Jimmy nodded again. He knew Rose and trusted her. Same for Enver. And course he trusted his roommate. “Okay. What all cain I do? Ya said, somethin’ bout trainin’?” He wasn’t too sure how much training he could do with his power. That train of thought was interrupted quickly though. “Davi,” he said, looking at the other fella. “I gotta tell Leigh bout this. She...she needs to know. Especially bout the ‘sperimenting part.” He didn’t want to think bout what they might do to her. Vol Squad or not. “Just training without IVI knowing how well we are doing with our powers. Stuff like that.” Right now, he figured Jimmy didn’t need to know about the ideas for spying on IVI and other things. While he wanted him to be in the loop, Davi didn’t want to scare him off the entire idea all together. “And I want you to tell Leigh. And anyone else you think is trustworthy enough and could benefit from something like this.” “Okay, good.” While all of this still felt a little like being in a movie, he also felt a sense of relief. Least there was something that could be done. Side from trying to keep the other Blackbirds outta trouble. Before he asked for any more details (like how they met without IVI knowing and where they met and a thousand other things), he managed a half smile at Davi. “And, thanks, ya know, fer tellin’ me. Preciate it.” Davi understood that feeling. In some strange way, everything still felt like it was happening to someone else and he was merely watching. “Not a problem, Jimmy. I care about you and junk,” he added as he gave an awkward pat to the other man’s shoulder. “Now. Let me just go over a few things before we go find Daisy.” |
