Day 2 updates!
We bring you the plot updates for DAY 2 - SATURDAY!
Heads up that the plot will officially kick off tomorrow (Friday) morning around 10am EST -- we will put an official 'HORROR PLOT STARTS NOW' post in the OOC comm so that you can know when it's kosher to start posting entries or logs pertaining to the plot.
Also, Cat is visiting Sarah starting tomorrow, and the two of us will be out eating dinner and drinking drinks tomorrow night, so there is a possibility that Sunday's plot won't go up until Saturday morning. :( Sorry in advance, these things are absolute monsters to put together.
NON-SMALL GROUPS
Characters: Everyone NOT in a small group.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) A very anxious calm has settled over campus. Many students didn't sleep through the night, worried about what might happen if they did. Those who did manage to catch some shut-eye were relieved to actually find that they could still wake up, although everyone was haunted by bad dreams and fitful sleep. Staff has jumbo pots of coffee available in the cafeteria available 24/7, along with snacks (and regular meals being served, although because of the reduced cooking staff, there aren't as many food options as usual.) Students who wish to help with the crisis are encouraged to sign up to volunteer with their team leaders. Swan and Eagle students report to the Flamingo Team Leader (Wendell) as their Team Leaders are asleep. The following volunteer duties are available:
- MEDICAL SUPERVISION & ASSISTANCE: Students who volunteer for medical supervision are tasked with watching over several sleeping students for a few hours at a time. They are there to monitor any movements and alert staff if the sleeping student seems distressed or injured, or if they show any sign of waking up. They also need volunteers to help change the blankets, make sure the other volunteers and staff has food, water, and coffee, etc.
- MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Students with any kind of medical experience are especially needed for this task, which mostly involves helping staff administer and maintain IVs for the sleeping students.
- SECURITY: Because of the high tensions on campus, IVI is asking a few student leaders to volunteer to monitor the building with the sleeping students, so that in case any kind of fight breaks out, it is quickly broken up and the sleeping bodies are protected. There is also military staff here, but student volunteers who wish to help are also welcome, especially if their powers would be helpful in this area.
- COMFORT CAPTAINS: These volunteers are tasked with checking in on the other (still awake) students. They will be given a list of students that they are in charge of checking up on. They are supposed to check in on those students at least twice a day, preferably in the morning and night, to make sure that they are doing okay, see if they need anything, and make sure that they seem mostly healthy. Comfort Captains report to their Team Leader if someone is missing, hurt, distressed, or if they fall into a dream. (As for who checks in on the comfort captains, the Team Leaders will be doing that.)
For everyone who doesn't wish to volunteer, they can keep visiting sleeping friends or stay indoors. If any students believe that they might be able to use their powers to defeat George Cooper, they are also encouraged to talk to their Team Leaders about that. The Team Leaders will have a long, thorough discussion about how they might use them and what the risks are, and will consider the option for tomorrow, if the situation is still ongoing.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) While some of the group stay vigilant into the night, others try to get some sleep. BRAD has a particularly difficult time, as whenever he’s about to drift off the trees outside hiss we’re coming to kill you! Other than tree-whispers the night is quiet, until suddenly everyone hears the muffled sound of a little girl crying. Quickly everyone is up and about, trying to find the source, search the house and the nearby grounds, though nobody wants to get too close to the woods. Soon enough TANJA realizes that the sound if coming from beneath the cabin floorboards.
The group move the furniture and peel back a threadbare rug to reveal a trapdoor, which when opened reveals a ladder to the basement. The child’s sobbing continues, and after some debate the group descends with lanterns. The basement is dank and musty, everything is covered in dust and cobwebs. There is plenty of rustic equipment, from the more obvious (axes and saws) to unsettling (chain hooks and machetes). KITOKO finds an old but functioning hunting rifle. The sound seems to be coming from behind an old deadbolted door, and as they get closer the little girl pleads for their help, crying that she’s so afraid of the dark. Again there is debate, but SAM insists on opening the door.
As soon as he does there is a sudden rush of wind from within, rattling all the rusty equipment, and the child’s sobbing turns into demonic laughter. Everyone has to take cover as sharp things go flying, and in the melee KITOKO, JIMMY, ETHAN and BRAD fall through a weak point in the basement floor and are washed away through an underground river. The others don’t realize what has happened until the winds subsided, but not until the cackling voice announces that they’ll all be dead by dawn!
When things subside those remaining in the basement discover the room behind the door to be empty, save for a tattered child’s doll. They hurry back upstairs and pile furniture on the trapdoor, but the laughter seems to echo in the trees outside now. While everyone is freaking out, CLARA gets a bit too close to one of the taxidermied deer heads and it suddenly bites her on the shoulder. The heads all cackle while SAM, KIERAN and QAMAR beat them to a pulp, and TANJA tends to CLARA. The wound isn’t bad, but CLARA started a small fire when she was surprised, and the group have to hurry to put it out.
Meanwhile the group that fell through the floor find themselves washed out through an underground river to the far bank of the lake. All find themselves on the shallow shore, save for JIMMY, who they spot foating face-down in the lake. ETHAN leaps to action and swims out to get JIMMY, dragging him back to the others. Just as he’s handing his prone comrade off something grabs his ankle and drags him underwater. During the struggle he comes face to face with a demonic little girl, but not before the others pull him up. On the shore there is a brief moment where they think JIMMY is dead, only for him to revive and reveal that he can live for short periods without air.
The group collect themselves and touch base through their phones with the cabin group. They can see the dim light of the cabin across the lake, though there are thick woods between them, and the trees are still making very colourful threats to BRAD. With few other options they set out for the cabin to regroup with the rest of their part, in the pale moonlight.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) The group trade off through the evening to keep watch, but the night is uneventful, save for the howling of the winds outside. MASON and GEORGE both think they see figures moving in the darkness outside or peering through windows, but they can’t tell for sure. Those who sleep do so restlessly and dreamlessly, waking with the lingering sensations of nightmares they can’t remember. At one point CHELSEA wakes, only to see the old woman watching her with hungry eyes from the ceiling. In her panic she teleports to ERROL’s room, and the terrorizing experience of teleporting doesn’t help. When everyone rushes into her room they find it empty, and things are reluctantly chalked up to a bad dream.
Come morning - though day is hardly any lighter - they find a soggy breakfast laid out, but no proprietress. She storm is getting stronger, and at SAVANNAH’s urgings they leave to find more secure shelter. As they set out through town they find it eerily empty, without any of the locals from before. In the distance through the fog they can see the fishing ships setting out to sea. They presume the locals are on them, but just before the ships’ silhouettes disappear into the fog, they appear to be dragged under the waves by an unseen force.
The group continue on for higher ground, moving up a winding road away from the sea. It begins to rain heavily, and GEORGE manifests a wish for umbrellas, but the use of his power seems to weaken and unsettle him, just as JESPER and CHELSEA’s have. As they come to the top of the bluff they find a circle of stone ruins overlooking the sea, and within them the townsfolk dressed in black hooded robes. They’re all chanting around a flickering green fire that is uninhibited by the rain. The words they speak can’t be understood, but the group seem to feel the words deep in their minds. All are unsettled, but both CHELSEA and JESPER faint, and in doing so alert the villagers to their presence.
All of the withered, leering villagers in robes turn to the group, and the old man from the pub steps forward. He has the imprint of YAEL’s palm burned across his face, but he’s grinning. “Ah, the sacrifices have come to usssss...” He hisses, and the group begins to advance. SAVANNAH summons up some shadows to defend them, but after a short advance the shadows stop, turn, and seem to join the villager crowd. MASON begins to topple and move stones telekinetically as defence, and this sets the group to shrieking wildly. There are booms of angry thunder and the winds pick up, while the villagers scream and grovel, crying apologies to the heavens. In the cacophany the group manage to escape back down the hill, but as they get back to the village they realize [VOLUNTEER] is no longer with them...
OOC NOTE: The member left behind will be out of commission for most of day three, which will pick up shortly after their escape. Feel free to discuss their plans of what they would like to do next in comments!
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) As the rubble settles the groups find them split apart in three different tunnels, each blocked off from the main chamber by the collapsed ceiling. JODI, ALYOSHA and EDEN are in one GROUP 1. TAKI, REED and ISHAK are GROUP 2. LEIGH, MARIANA and LIAM and are GROUP 3. After communicating that everyone is safe through their phones, they have little choice but to explore their respective tunnels in hopes of finding a way back together, or out.
GROUP 1 have to rely on JODI’s synesthetics to light their way, although without her iPod this creates the awkward necessity of some impromptu acapella performances if they want to see. They make their way to a smaller chamber lined with stone statues of Anubis. As they creep forward one of JODI’s footfalls depresses a stone, and the dusty statues all suddenly begin to come to life. They are not friendly, and begin to march on the group, weapons raised. It is only through some quick illusion work from ALYOSHA that they create a diversion and escape down a tunnel, with EDEN managing to collapse the pathway behind them on their pursuers with a much more localized earthquake.
GROUP 2 have their path lit by REED’s dancing photokinetic lights, which lead them down a winding stairwell to a room filled with lavish riches and gold. TAKI quickly calculates the value in the room in the millions, but he just as quickly finds a knife at his throat at YUSEF reappears. The ratfaced guide announces that he’ll be taking all the riches for himself, and leaving the group to rot. He forces REED and ISHAK to fill bags with riches for him, while he inspects the thick rubies embedded in a wall. The greedy guide prys one out, and suddenly the still air is filled with the skittering of tiny legs. Hundreds of gleaming flesh-eating beatles begin to emerge from the piles of gold, though they ignore the vols and zero in on Yusef. TAKI squirms free just in time, leaving his captor to be devoured. ISHAK has the presence of mind to call the map out of Yusef’s hand just before it disappears into the ravenous bug-pile, and the group flees from the treasure chamber.
GROUP 3 find that their tunnel is lit by an unexpected source: LEIGH. Her body adapts to the dark by emitting a bioluminescence, so she becomes a walking lantern. This group find themselves in another large chamber, this one inlaid with tall ornate columns. In the center of the room is a heavy stone sarcophagus. None can read the hieroglyph inscriptions on the stone, but they know well enough not to disturb an ancient Egyptian coffin. They edge their way around, though LIAM comments that this may be the Tomb of Kharis, which Yusef had explained was the way out. No sooner had he uttered the ‘K’ word then there is a deep, mournful groan from within the sarcophagus. The heavy stone lid is pushed aside, and an emaciated, bandage-wrapped corpse begins to crawl out. When it speaks its words sound like dust in the wind, but its words are clear: My bride has come to waken me. As the mummy steps out of its coffin it points one quavering finger over the vols, passing by MARIANA, then LEIGH, and finally settling upon one very unlucky young Irishman.
The trio immediately flee down another tunnel, even as the creature begins to shuffle after them.
THE MOUNTAIN LODGE
Mod: Sarah Characters: Jonas, Omar, Rose, Claudia, Vic, Aisha, Lena, Oliver
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) No matter where they went to sleep (or even if they tried to stay awake and keep guard) somehow everyone wakes up back in the same room they woke up in the day before. However, something is different this morning -- the room is very chilly, and when they go to the window they realize that a blizzard has come in overnight, covering the grounds in several feet of snow. The wind is blowing fiercely and any thoughts of leaving the hotel are well and abandoned.
They head downstairs and are startled to find breakfast laid out for them -- eight plates -- in the dining room. They all realize that they're starving and dig in. Every person has their favorite breakfast meal prepared for them. Midway through the meal, JONAS and CLAUDIA become very sick, needing to run to the bathroom to throw up. They are weak and almost instantly delrious -- the two seem to be breaking into fevers and they both swear that they see things in the room -- ghosts at every table, hotel guests eating breakfast. The others, clearly worried, take Jonas and Claudia to a bedroom with double beds -- they put them there and take turns watching over them throughout the day, where they suffer more visions and become more and more feverish throughout the day.
While the rest of the group is discussing what to do, MARINE shows up. They tell her about Jonas and Claudia's illness, and she recommends that they look for cool compresses and medicine, whatever they can find to try and help. She is also able to give short updates on the situation back at IVI, etc.
Once Marine is gone, VIC, ROSE, LENA and OLIVER go to look for medical supplies, while OMAR and AISHA stay to watch over JONAS and CLAUDIA. The group finds nothing in the kitchens or behind the front desk, but what they do find is a door that leads to a basement. Somehow they know that the supplies down there are what they need, and the four hesitantly head down the stairs. What they find is jarring -- there are medical supplies, in fact. Plenty of them. It looks as if someone had used the basement as a makeshift hospital... or experimental lab. The walls are lined with jars filled with liqued, some containing floating spiders, body parts, or -- is that a fetus? Look away, children, look away. There is an operating table stained with blood and a lot of very terrifying metal tools on the cart next to it. They grab some of the tools (a few sharp scalpels may come in handy) and some gauze, rubbing alcohol, small towels, and pain killers. Suddenly, out of nowhere a man appears. He is wearing a doctor's coat and a grin.
Without a word, the man lunges at the group with a knife. A fight occurs, and thankfully VIC and LENA are able to defeat him, although VIC suffers a rather nasty stab wound to the arm. They make their way back upstairs to bring the supplies to the rest of the group and let them know what happened. The drugs are administered to JONAS and CLAUDIA, who finally manage to fall asleep, and they work to patch up VIC's arm -- everyone decides that it's best if they all stay together in the same room tonight.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) All through the night there were loud noises coming from outside, but, even though there were some bangs against the supply closet door, the locks held firm and the group stayed safe. Things quieted down as morning broke, and after about an hour of hearing absolutely nothing outside their door the group braves the world outside their supply closet. The heat is still as oppressive as it was yesterday. The grocery store seems slightly more ransacked than it did the day before, and in one corner of the store they find a zombie with no legs dragging itself around. JESSE kills it with the same knife from yesterday.
The group decides there are two main goals for today: food, and weapons. Ana tries to conjure more things but finds that something is wrong with her powers -- sometimes she's unable to conjure anything, other times she conjures something but it isn't at all what she intended. Thus, they split up into two groups, one going after each. ANA, BENJIE, LYDIE and MIYU are in the food group, and they decide to inventory everything at the grocery store and then start scouring the second floor of the apartments. CHRIS, JESSE, LILJA, and JACE are in the weapons group and decide to check out the Wal-Mart.
In the apartments, the group confirms that everything on the first floor is empty of useful items, but the second and third floors seem to be in better shape. With some teamwork they’re able to break into some of the windows and find those apartments to be mostly untouched by zombies, though in many cases it looks like the owners ran and took a handful of supplies with them, and a few have been looted. They’re still able to get some roller suitcases and fill them with canned and nonperishable foods, large amounts of bottled water, and a few novelties like battery-operated handheld fans that still work. However, the last apartment they break into is booby-trapped, and a small homemade bomb full of pebbles, rocks, and shards of glass go flying everywhere, injuring a number of people in the group, but especially Miyu, whose arm is bleeding pretty bad. BENJIE takes off his shirt to make her a makeshift bandage and stop the bleeding. Rattled, the group decides they’ve had enough, and slowly make it back to the grocery store
Meanwhile, the group at the Wal-Mart is having less luck. They still can’t figure out how to get in, though after a lot of trial and error, they do find a window in the back. JESSE breaks through in his gold form and clears out the glass before helping everyone else get in. Once in, however, they realize that the Wal-Mart is definitely home to some non-zombified folk. No one is around, though, and, after some anxious whispering, they decide to grab some weapons. There’s a HUGE stockpile, and certainly whatever group is in there could stand to lose at least a couple.
A few hunting knives, and two guns are grabbed and just as they’re scooting back out the window they’re spotted by the group of people who have been holed up in the Wal-Mart. The group, agitated and angry that someone is going after their stuff heads towards them, and CHRIS is shot in the shoulder. The rest escape with some minor injuries, but nothing too bad. With effort, they make it back to the grocery store.
When they regroup at the grocery store they find CALEB there, touching base to see how they’re doing. They exchange information, and Caleb is more than willing to give them any information they need about friends in other dreams (if he knows it) and to pass on messages.
As night settles they hole themselves back into the supply closet for a night very similar to the last, but now with two injuries to try and treat. They find some painkillers, but it's not much. At least now they have food and handheld fans?
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) After a largely restless night the group reconvenes and then splits up into two groups. BEA, CATALINA, KRISTIJAN, and ENVER go to the hydroponics bay to gather food, and then to the galley to try and cook something, as they now realize that they hadn’t eaten anything the day before. HAILEY, IMMY, ELSA and ALEJANDRO go to explore the new part of the ship.
In the hydroponics bay, the first group discovers that the fruits and vegetables there are mostly recognizable. They start collecting them, careful to only collect enough to feed themselves for the day. CATALINA takes special effort to read all the information on the hydroponics bay, becoming a bit of an expert on what they need to do in order to sustain themselves for as long as possible.
Once they have the food they go back to the galley, poking around there to see what they can find. There isn’t much there -- plates, some cooking and eating utensils, a stove and microwave-type looking thing, and a number of spices. And then, in one of the last cabinets they open, they find a number of jugs that, when opened, smell a lot like alcohol. ENVER offers to test and takes a sip and, sure enough, it’s some really potent moonshine. After a bit of a debate the group decides to set the alcohol aside for the time being, and set to making a meal with the vegetables they have.
Meanwhile, the exploring group goes to the new part of the ship to see if there are any new answers there. They discover more escape pods, though in this case they haven’t all been jettisoned. In one they find two human bodies, dead, with extreme head wounds. In the another they find large amounts of green goo, streaked all along the floors, walls, and handle of the exit back into the ship. And in the third they find what they can only assume is a dead alien – a reptilian type creature with four arms and two legs, about 3 feet tall – and a human man that, upon some examination – seems to still be somewhat alive. Just barely, though -- his breath is shallow and there are festering gashes on his arms.
They'd seen a med bay around the corner on their way in, and so they take the man to that area so they can try to figure out how to save him. In the medical bay they are able to figure out how to make some of the medical instruments work, and they’re able to revive him, but only long enough to get information about the alien. There are two ways you can die from the alien, he says: one is by getting cut by their claws, which will pose a serious risk of blood poisoning that no one knows how to cure. The poisoning takes about a week to set in – that’s what happened to this man, about six and a half days ago. The other way involves being punctured by the aliens in the back of the head. The injured person will seem fine for about two days, and then suddenly drop to the ground, comatose. Twelve hours later a baby alien will burst out of their skull, killing them immediately. The man dies, right as MARINE shows up. The group passes along this information to her.
Dejected and scared, the group says goodbye to Marine and heads back to the galley to meet up with the volunteer cooks, who, by this time, have finished cooking. Several of them decide to indulge in the alcohol and get more than a little tipsy.
The exploration teams shares the day's news, and they all suddenly realize that, by opening the bulkhead that had been sealed, they have now allowed the aliens into their part of the ship. They could be anywhere. As they leave the galley that night, they notice some green goo pooled on the floor. They try to trace its origin, but to no success. During the night, KRISTIJAN may see some ghosts of the dead crew members, who will mostly only be able to tell him what the exploration group learned about how the aliens kill.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) Time is not exactly right here -- it is, after all, a dream. After a little bit of restlessness throughout the night, the group realizes that they’re not really getting any rest and decide to figure out what's causing the noises that they’re hearing individually. They choose to explore the Tunnel of Luv because, well, how could anything go wrong there? It's the Tunnel of Luv, you guys. They begin walking along the tracks and see various scenes that seem like they were meant to be romantic, but without power, now take on more of an edge. Two swans with their necks entwined in an embrace seem particularly threatening, and a number of mannequins throughout the ride almost seem to be watching them. DAMIEN in particular swears that their eyes are following him, and RASHIDA twice is convinced that they see one of them move even though no one else sees it. With the anxiety of the group growing, CARTER decides that they should just leave and the group turns around to go back where they’ve come from.
However, they realize suddenly that they are lost. They get the feeling that the track now rides on some endless loop with no ending and no exit. They find themselves crossing the same scenes – the swans, a beach at sunset, a room full of hearts, Paris and the Eiffel Tower – over and over again, but each time there’s something a little different about them, a little darker and a little more foreboding. The mannequins in the scenes also seem to move slightly every time they pass through the scenes, getting a little closer to the track, a little less happy and a little more aggressive, and no matter which turn the group takes, they keep passing the same scenes, in order, without being able to escape the loop. At one point GISELE feels something brush against her arm, jumps and screams, and, convinced that one of the mannequins is lunging at them, runs off hysterically on her own.
The rest of the group follows and is finally able escape the ride, finding themselves back outside where they are reunited with Gisele. The moon is in the exact spot that it was when they entered the ride hours (wasn't it hours?) before. Gisele now realizes that she has a large gash on their arm where she'd felt someone touch her, and she is bleeding quite significantly. Rattled by the injury, the group argues and tries to decide what to do next. They make her a makeshift bandage. Afterward, KODY begins to complain about how hungry he is, which leads the rest of them to notice that they're hungry, too.
They find a food booth with a cotton candy machine, a number of pickles, an empty hot dog roller, and a deep fryer. They begin picking at the pickles when suddenly the cotton candy machine roars to life and the door of the food booth slams shut. Cotton candy starts flying everywhere -- covering windows, any possible exits, and the students. Then the deep fryer turns itself on as well, hot oil bubbling violently and splattering around it. REMY and CALLUM are splattered by the oil, giving them significant burns. They all panic trying to open the door, finally prying it open and escaping.
Caleb is there, waiting on the other side. They update him on the day's events and he is able to help them fashion some rudimentary bandages but isn’t able to do much more than that. He does pass on any basic information they want to know about friends back at IVI or in other dreams, and then eventually has to leave.
Once he’s gone the group decides it’s better to stay out in the open while trying to figure out what to do next, and settle into an open field, realizing once again that the moon is in the exact same spot as it has been the entire time.
INSANE ASYLUM
Mod: Sarah Characters: Hunter, Nawal, Audra, Moira, Edwin, Solomon, Hugo, Anthony
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) Just like yesterday, everyone wakes up in a bed again -- however, unlike yesterday, they are now in a large room filled with beds, all with patients lying in them, some asleep and some not. HUNTER, HUGO, and SOLOMON are restrained to their beds; the others get up and let them out -- none of the nurses even seem to notice, they are all so busy tending to the other patients. The group starts to exit the building to what they somehow know is the "garden," where they are free to walk around -- however, on their way, they are stopped by a few nurses who tell them that NAWAL, AUDRA, and MOIRA all have to go in for their hydrotherapy session.
The four of them are all taken into individual rooms where they are told to get into tubs of warm water. They are wearing bathing suits, and the water is comfortably warm. They get in and begin to relax almost immediately, and the nurse leaves them alone and dims the lights. After some time, they realize that the water temperature is increasing. It gets hotter and hotter until it is burning their skin, and although they thrash and attempt to get out of the tub, they feel as if some great weight is holding them down. Just as they begin to feel as if they will certainly down in this tub of boiling water, the lights flash on and a nurse rushes in. The water temperature is fine and there are no burns on their skin -- the nurse assures them that it was all in their mind. They are taken to another tub where they are instructed to submerge themselves in freezing cold water before they can get out and dry off.
Meanwhile, in the garden, the male members of the group speak to a patient who tells them a little about the asylum -- it's on an island, and no one has ever successfully escaped. He does say, however, that there is a lighthouse on the other side of the island, a mile or so away through the thick forest. There, the sick man says, they may find an answer to their problems. He then begins to scream incoherent jibberish before a nurse escorts him away.
Finally, the day ends with therapy sessions. The sessions happen in pairs -- HUNTER and AUDRA, NAWAL and EDWIN, MOIRA and ANTHONY, & SOL and HUGO all have their sessions together. There they are encouraged to talk about their shared delusion and why they created it. Staff is there to provide more proof of their real lives, if necessary, to further convince them that IVI was truly nothing more than a delusion.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY) Not much time seems to have passed. It is still night and the party is still raging on downstairs, although despite their best efforts to keep watch, the group realizes that they all managed to doze off. LO lights up a cigarette and DAISY begins to argue with her, telling her that it's unfair to smoke in a room with so many people. They bicker and it escalates quickly, ending with LO deciding to go outside to smoke. Not wanting to leave anyone alone, ODEN, SANTIAGO and RICHIE accompany her. As they make their way through the party, something eerie begins to slowly happen -- one by one, everyone stops dancing and turns to look at the three of them. Realizing that something is very seriously wrong, they turn to go back upstairs... but the stairwell is gone. The crowd of party-goers begins to converge ominously on them, almost as if possessed. Even though they have powers, the group decides that making a run for it is preferable to fighting off 60 teenagers, and they run out the front door, slamming it closed behind them. They head out onto the street and send a message to the rest of the group, who takes heed and locks themselves into the bedroom.
Out on the street, LO, ODEN, SANTIAGO and RICHIE decide to explore the neighborhood a little. They begin walking down the street and quickly realize that they're being followed. It is a girl with pale skin and dark hair, dressed all in black. She approaches them on the sidewalk and begins to chat. She's flirtatious but dark and sarcastic in nature, and she seems particularly interested in RICHIE. When the group insists that they have to go, she suddenly becomes angry and pulls a large knife out of her satchel. The group acts fast to fight her off, but in the process she manages to wound ODEN, who gets a major gash on his side. The girl runs off, injured.
Because Oden now needs immediate medical attention, they decide to break into a nearby empty home. They find shelter there and try to tend to his wound the best they can.
Meanwhile, back at the party, DAISY, MIKE, CONNER, SETH and JORDANA get a visit from CALEB, who appears at the window. They let him in and he updates them on the situation and answers any questions about their friends that he can. When the situation with the girl on the street breaks out, he goes to try and find the rest of the group but gets pulled out of the dream before he can reach them.
MIKE and JORDANA eventually decide to use their powers to go scope out the surrounding area -- Mike investigates the rest of the house and Jordana flies around the neighborhood. None of them find anything too interesting, although Jordana finds the house where the others are staying and joins them for the night. Mike finds some crackers and cookies in the kitchen and brings them upstairs for people to eat; the others find food in the empty house. As time passes, they realize that the party has gone silent -- apparently they are now alone in the house. Everyone hunkers down again, hoping that waiting will eventually result in waking up.
