Where: Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour
When: Wednesday afternoon
Rating: Low.

Ice cream. Oh how she desired some ice cream. Butterscotch flavour, two scoops on one cone. That was paradise. If she died and went to heaven, it would only consist of butterscotch. Ginny stepped out of Fortescue's with the cone clutched in her hand, and ran her tongue around the edge of the bottom scoop.
Oh yeah. That was going to settle a craving all right!

She went in for a second lick as she started to walk away, and something terrible happened. With a soft 'splat', the ice cream dived from her cone straight onto the cobbles below. She stopped and looked down at the butterscotch mess in front of her.
"Well crap."

Ginny was about to whip out her wand and hex the ever-loving hell out of the melting lump of ice cream on the street in frustration when Hermione arrived practically hyperventilating. Ginny's eyebrows furrowed as she tried to make out what Hermione was going on about.

"Oh! Really? Hermione, what're you talking about? That's great!" She said with an encouraging smile, "Take a deep breath, calm down! There's no way they're not going to like you!"
With a flick of her wand, Ginny's empty cone disapepared and she linked arms with Hermione, guiding her back towards the ice cream shop, "Let's get tea or something."

Hermione followed her instructions and took a deep breath and then held onto Ginny's arm tightly as the girl lead her into the shop. Hermione hadn't quite realized how panicked she was until she'd been told to take a deep breath and relax, but she wasn't sure she was doing a very good job of the relaxing part, even though she kept taking deep breaths. She tried to think rationally about this situation, about what she would do I she actually got accepted. There would be a campaign and she'd probably have to leave behind her department while that was going on. Not that she knew the first thig about campaigning.

As she sat down and clutched the tea she'd ordered, she had a moment of clear thinking in her panic choked brain. She looked up at the red head, who had always been very popular and well liked, and how could she not be? She would be a good person to have around if this thing actually got going. "Not that I'm sure this is actually going to go anywhere," she started, getting control over her shaky voice and trying not to think about the terror growing in her stomach, "But if it does, do you think... Or rather, would maybe consider possibly being my campaign manager? I don't know the first thing about campaigning and if I'm left to my own devices, I doubt I'll get anyone's attention. And I really feel like the Order is depending on me to do this and do it well. Especially Harry. I don't want to let anyone down, Ginny."

Ginny had her hands cupped around her mug, soaking in the warmth of her tea, when Hermione asked her to help her campaign. She smiled wide and almost spilt her drink as she bounced up.
"Really? Me? Of course I'll help! It'll be great! We can make posters and get you in all the magazines!" she said excitedly, "Honestly Hermione, after everything you did during the war, you've probably got the entire country's vote in your pocket!"

She sat still for about half a second before bouncing up and down in her seat as ideas began to spill out onto the table, "Harry can talk about how he trusts you! Rita Skeeter will eat that sort of stuff up and spit it out into the Prophet. Not that I'm saying you should use Harry, I mean, it's true, he trusts you, and he thinks you'll be a great Minister too!"

Hermione smiled back, relief clearly showing on her face. "Oh good, I might actually stand a chance with you helping me!" she said. She smiled as she watched ideas clearly forming in Ginny's mind, and when she said something about magazines, she even laughed a little. She knew if anyone could make this enjoyable, it would be Ginny.

When she mentioned Rita Skeeter, Hermioned laughed a little. "Yea she'll have some article about how Harry was blubbering over me being such an amazing person and how he's probably secretly in love with me or something. That's what she did last time, with the tournament. But to be honest, since Harry is really the one who got meninto this, I'm not sure I'll feel all that bad about using him. What I'm really worried about is how Ron is going to take it. You know how he hates being paid attention to, especially when it has anything to do with us as a couple. What if I got elected and he broke up with me?" the fear had re-entered her voice as the thought occured to her. "I'd be a complete wreck. And I haven't heard a word from him yet about any of this. I'm getting worried. Maybe he hates the idea, maybe he won't back me up on any of this. I can't do this without him, Ginny."

"Pfft," Ginny waved her hand, "Ron needs to man up. This is about you! You're going to be the best Minister for Magic ever! Ron's probably just worried. But he's an Auror. If he's concerned he can put himself on the Minister's protection detail or something, and then he doesn't have to leave you alone at all."

She patted Hermione's hand from across the table, "I don't think he's got any plans to break up with you Hermione. I mean, I know he doesn't exactly confide in me, but I've known him forever, I know what he's like. He's definitely in this for the long-haul." She gave Hermione an encouraging smile and sipped her tea, "Knowing him and Harry though, if you do win, you're going to end up with both of them as your personal body guards. Though Merlin knows you're probably better in a fight."

"I haven't been elected yet, Ginny," Hermione reminded her with a small smile. The girl's excitement was having a very slight effect on her, and thankfully her nerves were abating. "But it is about him too. After all, I can't very well say 'I don't give a hoot what you think you'll just have to deal with it'. I mean, we are in a relationship, that isn't exactly how it is supposed to work." But she did rather like the idea of Ron and Harry being her personal protection aurors. it made her feel safer and more comfortable. After all, they'd all made it through th war, so she knew she could trust them with her life.

Hermione smiled when Ginny patted her hand and reassured her. "I know, I'm being ridiculous, and he'd probably laugh at me if he knew I was worried about any of this, but I can't really help it! It is just one more thing that is on my plate now, and don't tell him I said this because it will embarrass him, but he really is possibly the most important thing in my life right now. I don't want to jeopardize it even slightly. Maybe I should talk to Harry about that, just to make sure. And yes, I hope both of them are on my security team, I'll feel safe then!"
