Ginny hadn't meant to be late but, unlike Ron, she had stopped in to see Molly and Arthur. And, of course, five minutes had turned into twenty and a cup of tea, then thirty and a slice of cake, and then finally she had to physically walk out the door calling goodbye to escape.

She hurried up the steps and hammered on the door, wondering if, by any chance, Ron and Hermione hadn't actually arrived yet and she might get a little time with just her and Harry...

Harry was wandering the place, waiting for everyone to turn up. Of course, he hadn't really specified a time, so this was his fault really, but still. He glanced into a room of Grimmauld that he hadn't bothered trying to clean up yet, and sighed. This place was definitely a do-er-upper, and worse for the fact that most of it needed ding magically. Of course, Kreacher was no help, more of a hinderance to any sort of cleaning or modernisation than anything.

He heard the knock on the door, and headed to it, opening it with a smile, especially when he saw Ginny standing there. "Hey, come in." he said with a grin, standing aside to allow it. Of course, she was definitely going to get a proper welcome, he'd just rather not do it in full view of the whole street. Harry was somewhat of a gentleman sometimes, of course.

Ginny grinned widely as her boyfriend opened the door. She wasted no time in bouncing into the house and depositing her bag on the floor. As a quick check she yelled "Hello!" into the house. Upon hearing no reply, she took it as a good signal that the coast was clear and practically jumped on Harry to pull him into a passionate kiss.

"Hey you," She grinned when she finally released him for air, "I see you haven't cleaned up yet."
Unwilling to part from him, she slipped her hand into his and let him lead her to the livingroom. As they reached the sofa she pushed him down and plopped down next to him, "Do you know what time Hermione and Ron are getting here?"

Harry kissed her back, wrapping an arm instinctively around her waist. "Hey." he said, with a grin, pecking her lips softly once more. "Eh..." he trailed, glancing around. Yeah, okay, it really was a mess. "I've been trying... just not these rooms yet." he said, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck. "And Kreacher doesn't help - he undoes half of what I manage." he said, shaking his head.

"Not a clue." he admitted, sitting down next to her. "'Course, I'm assuming soon, because whilst your brother's not known for his timekeeping abilities, I'm assuming he and Hermione will be arriving at the same time." he said.

"Well, in that case," Ginny grinned and scooted closer so she could pull Harry into another kiss, a longer one this time, purely indulging in the excess time they had to kill. She traced her fingers over his thigh and leaned in to kiss him again.

Except, at that moment, Kreacher noisily decided to dust the vases on a coffee table, something he clearly hadn't bothered with right until that moment. Ginny jumped at the sudden noise and glared at the house elf who muttered something and left the room as quickly as he appeared.

Harry kissed her back, gently holding onto her - glad reall that she'd arrived here first. He really was going to have to spend more time in Holyhead, that much was for sure.

He jumped at the noise from Kreacher, and watched the elf carefully. After Kreacher's past betrayal, he'd never really trusted the house elf fully. He was fairly sure he never would, even if Kreacher did have his days when he was almost pleasant. Almost. That was the operative word here.

Just then, another noise distracted him.

Ginny rolled her eyes at the house elf. Kreacher had set about making it well known that he disliked Ginny and Harry doing anything more than holding hands in the house, but stuff him!

as soon as he exited the room, Ginny sat up and straddled Harry's lap, deciding on principle that the was going to indulge in her boyfriend, just to about Kreacher.

"Hm, where were we? Oh I remember..." She leaned down and kissed him again, deeply.

Hermione was waiting patiently in the Ministry lobby for Ron before they headed over to Grimmauld to meet the others. Though she was quickly becoming less patient as she glanced at her watch. Ron was running a bit late, and she hadn't seen him in a few days as she'd been so busy, frankly she missed him more than anything, though she knew better than to throw herself at him in front of people!

Nonetheless, when she finally saw him striding towards her, she couldn't surpress the very large, bright, and slightly relieved smile that broke out across her face. She waited for him to get closer before calling out to him, as she wasnt completely sure he'd seen her yet. "I was starting to worry," she said as he drew closer.

Ron wove his way out of the Magical Law Enforcement offices, passing by two established aurors with a more curt nod than he normally would have and beelining for the elevator that would take him to the Atrium. He knew he was running late, and he knew Hermione would no doubt be flustered that something had gone wrong and kept him. At this rate they'd be late for their meeting at Grimmauld, which came with an entirely separate slew of worrying. "No reason to," he said, putting on more of a smile than he really had cause for in an attempt to reassure her. "Things just got a bit busy, but nothing we lot couldn't handle." He pulled her into a bit of a hug and, acutely aware of the Ministry workers that surrounded them, pulled away a bit quicker than he might normally. "How were things down in your office?"

Hermione tried her hardest not to look a little disapointed when he pulled away from the hug, but she knew him. It wasn't like they had just started dating, at which point she had been kind of offended. She knew he was more of a private person, even if back in 6th year he'd been perfectly happy to snog Lavender in the hallways. Hermione wasn't that kind of person either, so she wasn't going to complain too much.

Though that didn't mean he was getting off scott free either. She gently took his hand and smiled reasuringly up at him. "You know, everyone isn't going to judge you for holding your girlfriends hand," she told him for the millionth time. She smiled though, amused by his reaction. She didn't doubt for a second that he cared about her, but sometimes she wished he was just a tad more affectionate.

"Things are fairly busy down in my office, even though we don't deal directly with the major problems going on right now. A lot of us have been retasked to help pick up the slack in the panic. Including me. It's like they expect me to fix everything sometimes, just because of what we did..." she trailed off a little, not really liking to think of their latter school years and the final one especially. She started to feel more anxious to see Harry and Ginny as well.

"I know they're not," he muttered, though he did go slightly red around the ears as she slipped her hand into his. He gave the Atrium a second surreptitious glance, as if someone were about to jump from behind a pillar and make a remark. It was a clearly irrational thought, but he couldn't quite suppress it completely. All the same, he didn't pull away. Walking hand in hand was something he could handle being known for.

Ron gave a knowing sort of nod, knowing exactly what she meant before she had to say it. People did carry different expectations of them because of how the War had turned out; the fact that they'd played such pivotal roles had given them more of a hero status than he wagered any of them were completely at ease with. "It's worse with the Aurors, a lot of the younger ones still just look at me and Harry like we're- like oracles, or something. That we'll know exactly the thing to do every single time."

Hermione paused for a moment as they exited the Ministry and reached the street before retaking his hand as they walked. It wasn't a long walk, and she figured that Harry and Ginny would enjoy any time they had alone together, and for that matter, so would she with Ron. "I know what you mean. I'm sick of everyone rushing over to me and expecting me to know what to do in every situation. Half the time I don't even know what the situation is that they need me for." Hermione shook her head as if to clear her mind and leaned into Ron a little bit absentmindedly. Work was really taking a toll on her and she wasn't sure how much more of it she could handle. She missed her kind of quiet job before Kingsley...

"We're almost there," she said more for herself than for him as he could figure that out. "I just don't know what to do anymore," she sighed as they turned the last corner. She glanced at Ron as if to make sure he was still ok, even though she knew he was. She just felt like it was her responsibility to keep everyone ok.

For most of the short walk he simply listened to her, taking in her thoughts on how it was to be who they were. It was taxing, having lived through the war- and having been so pivotal in its end- and it almost seemed at times to be a second job on top of the one he already had, another layer of his being an Auror that hadn't been broached when he'd signed the paperwork. Now, with Kingsley dead, things had reverted right back to how they had been just after He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had fallen, and witches and wizards far older and experienced than himself still turned a worried eye on him for his thoughts- no matter how many times he told them what he had to say was probably no more useful than anything they could offer.

He hardly noticed they were nearly at Grimmauld until Hermione pointed it out- but when she did he started to finally take in his surroundings, rather than simply passing them so passively. "None of us do. This..it's not like last time, when we had an idea of what was going on. When-" he didn't finish his thought, knowing it would dredge back too much and afraid of what it meant for the adversary they now faced. Back when they'd had people to still tell them what to do, give them a skeletal idea of how to proceed. Now they were the ones at the head, and Ron hardly wanted to think of the implications. "We'll figure it out. That's what tonight's all about, right? Assessing the situation, putting together what we know, and coming up with a plan."

Hermione nodded at his reasurance. "Yes, you're right. It will be easier to figure out what the next step is once we have all of us together." She fell silent for a little while as they closed the gap to the house. Hermione look around them carefully to make sure the street was empty before she did the spell to make the house appear. As they waited for it to show up, Hermione wondered if she ought to make as much noise as possible when they went in, since they were late and she figured Ginny had beat them there. The last thing this day needed was for Ron to walk in on his sister and her boyfriend in the middle of something.

But while she was lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize that she was following Ron up the stairs, and she highly doubted that he'd knock first, or even consider that something he might not want to be privy to might be happening inside. "Ron, you should probably knock before you go in," she said a little late.
