"Batteries first," Gabriel said, laughing as he followed Noah. His mind was buzzing with the possibilities as he continued to look over the model in his hands until he reached the kitchen, sitting it down on the counter as he sorted through the cabinets to find the batteries.
"So, when you were working on this, what was it like?" Gabriel asked as he pulled out the box of batteries and started prying the cardboard back off of them. "You had to have gotten lost in it, to get this far in what I assume was only a few hours," Gabriel said, looking up at Noah and smiling at him.
Getting lost in his work. It was something that Gabriel remembered well, watching the parts and pieces all come together like they needed to in a perfect harmony of mechanics until the watch or clock that he was working on would start to sing with the sweet sound of properly turning gears. He'd work for hours upon hours sometimes without realizing that he was hungry or thirty or tired until he was too much of one thing in order to keep his focus.
Best to figure out exactly what he was working with here, whether it was ability driven, mechanical genius, or maybe just a little bit of both.
