Jake shrugged. "I didn't see the specifics. Was too busy trying to build ice barriers between flying debris. But an anti-gravity patch hit us and once it passed ... everything scattered all to hell."
Sucking in his cheeks slightly, amusement still sparkled in his eyes. "Good on you, coming out of your shell and hitting up strangers for dates," he teased. To the comment about Cassi, he shrugged. "She might not know. Think she had a busy weekend and Jaime was ... doing things at the garage with the keys for some of it." That much he'd gleaned from the discussion on the network, which he was sure Damon had been able to see as well. He also did know that sometimes Jaime managed to keep things from Cassi - so there was another round of smug; he might know something before his darling loudmouth sister did.
Not that he planned on spreading the word; he'd already muddled in it enough and he was going to back the hell out of it. He'd gotten it rolling and that was good enough for him for a credit note. That was probably all the involvement he wanted in it, really. "Doing anything fun?" He prompted curiously before returning his attention to the menu. Maybe a bacon sandwich on a bagel was the order of the day for him.
