welcome home
WHAT'S UP?
this is the third of three posts that will welcome your characters into the game! welcome home, you're finally here!

this particular ic/ooc can be used for all interactions that take place after arriving on the island. they arrive on the island at 7:30 pm, just after the sun has set. it's dark outside but soft golden orbs of light, zipping around like fireflies, are illuminating the way to the dock as the ferry pulls in.

the anchor drops and the bridge lowers and... there's a lull, as nothing in particular happens when it feels like something should. agatha nylund can sense the wisps' excitement and anticipation turning to confusion as they slowly rise from the sea to scan the deck. they eventually find and gather around gilly the goose, who's lost in the sauce from the edibles they yoinked off cass janssen and are unable (or just unwilling) to move. seems they were supposed to be the tour guide.

a few of the wisps work together to pick the goose up and fly them off the boat. captain clifford interrupts the strange moment with a crackling voice over the speakers: "Welcome home! If ye'll follow Gilly and my friends to the inn up a ways, we've got supper on the table and warm beds made up for ya!"

the other wisps buzz with excitement and zip ahead to light the path to the inn.

and they were roommates...
for their first night on the island, islanders are invited to a feast and an overnight stay at the inn. it's dark out and they can peruse the homes and businesses tomorrow!

there aren't enough rooms for everyone, so they've been assigned a roommate for the night. their names are hung on the doors to their rooms. nothing is stopping them from sleeping elsewhere or trading rooms, though. each room can come with two full beds, twin XL bunk beds, or one king sized bed— it's up to you! there's an en suite bathroom, a small lounge area, and a writing desk within the room.

on the writing desk is a paper with information on how to connect to the island's internet and log in to their account on the social network. (their display names are their tale names and there doesn't seem to be a way to change this in the settings.)

we'll be doing rolling adds until 9PM EST to scoop up the stragglers, in which case they'll be assigned rooms with each other or added to an existing room as a third roommate. in the case of a third roommate, assume there is another bed in the room to comfortably accomodate them. apps added after 9PM EST will be processed on monday, when we will shift to the monday & thursday adds schedule, so please get them in if you'd like your character to be a day 1 arrival.

For the moment, it's easier to... not look at him. Even so, she tugs his arm closer to her chest and brings his knuckles to her cheek, cuddling. "... We shouldn't avoid... talking about it."

"What? No, are you serious?" His arms tighten around her, just a little. "We have no idea who made the assignments or why--could have been a totally random draw. Could be something weirder. Either way, I'm not letting an unknown person tell me I'm not allowed to stay the night with you."
