Belle shuddered at the mention of the wolves. "They were huge," she admitted. "Biggest damned wolves I ever seen. And bold too. Wolves don't usually come near people."
Her sympathy immediately went to Drina. Poor gal, stuck here to endure God only knew what and in a family way, with her husband not here. "It helps," she agreed. "Can't be easy for you." She nodded at the picture. "He's a handsome fella too. What's his name?"
She set about digging in. "Well, that goes both ways, sugar," she agreed. "I'd be completely lost without my Cooper. You're a hella lot stronger than I am. So if you ever need a shoulder to cry or whatever, you just come find me."
