Stress Relief
Who: Cathair and Eden
Where: Uniform - 1
When: Sunset
Warning: NSFW

Cathair was mindful to be to Eden's cottage before the sun went down. Besides not wanting to deal with the bloody wargs if they returned with only a cobbled together slingshot and a few kitchen knives as weapons, there was always the possibility they'd take her again as soon as night fell. Not that he expected to be able to stop it from happening again. But he'd try.

He'd stopped by the pub where the lady who saw fit too feed them once a day had set herself up. She'd of course read the journal entries and asked him if he was going to see Eden. Never one for letting others in on his business, still he really couldn't deny it and endured the knowing look the Amazonian woman gave him as she handed him a large wrapped up plate to go with the overloaded one he already had to share with Eden.

Now he had food, a few types of alcohol and whatever Belle had decided to set aside for Eden. Most likely the apple pie she'd talked about. Looked like she'd sent about half the bloody thing by the side of the bulge under the wrapping.

Freeing up one hand enough to know, he waited for Eden to answer.

She snorted a little, "Well I tried but you got so bloody demanding, didn't you?" Eden licked her lips, more than amused. Her lips curled into a teasing smile, "Mm, well. Maybe for a younger man." Okay, the age jest wasn't fair as she was fairly certain she was older than him but that was neither here nor there.

"Is that the best you can think of?" she asked with a laugh as she slipped off her bed and headed towards her bathroom with a little swing to her hips. Eden had a far different definition of romance having never learned the old fashioned whatnots - flowers and candy and bullshit like that.

She shut the door before taking her moment to pee - all that vigorous activity in the vicinity of her bladder... Oy. It also gave her a moment to clean up so she didn't feel completely sticky and gross although the true remedy would only come in the form of a shower which she was certain would lead to more 'vigorous activity'. For that reason alone she was going to wait for a full recovery from both of them. After a handful of minutes, she emerged pausing in the doorway to stretch out her body, hands clasped and arms straight out over her head. She couldn't help the soft groan that came with it even if she wanted to.

Cathair scoffed at every bit of nonsense she shot at him. "I still have enough my brains to think and speak," he reminded her. "You'll have to try harder, colleen."

Actually, he was wanting a piss and a shower himself. He waited patiently for her to finish first. A shower together was a brilliant idea, especially since it'd likely lead to more 'vigorous activity'. Especially when she stood in the doorway of the loo and stretched like that, making that noise.

Right, so he wasn't that tired yet. But he still had to piss. Cathair rolled off the bed and headed for the toilet, stopping to lean in and steal a kiss. "My turn," he told her. "Hold that thought."

Not that he expected either of them to be ready for another go just yet. He closed the bathroom door behind him as he went to do his business.

"Tcha!" was her only response to his argument but it was out of amusement and the fact that she really just thought it was very silly.

Eden blinked in surprise at the sudden feel of lips on her's, returning it automatically before moving out of the way for Cathair to have his turn. She settled on her bed, kneeling with her back to the door and her head bowed. Her dark hair was pulled over her shoulder and it put the hard lines of the scars on her back on display even under the ink though she hadn't meant to that exactly.

She was just taking a moment to herself to sort a few things out in her mind. Cathair was the first man she'd been with since the death of her husband. It was an important step in her life but that also meant she felt a little guilty. It'd been seven years - she was allowed... Right?

The kiss may have been a bit more familiar affection than was likely appropriate given the circumstances, but Cathair was rather feeling far too good to think much about it.

But then, he hadn't ever had a long term relationship at all. Which meant he was oblivious to the change in intensity in the next room as he washed up and such.

But it was impossible to miss when he stepped out of the loo. The first thing that caught his attention was her posture. Then the scars, ugly and still healing.

His first thought was physical pain, not emotional pain. She'd said the day they'd met, which was only two days ago, that she wasn't a hundred percent.

Had he been too rough? "Eden?" he asked quietly as he moved to the bed. He forced his gaze away from the scars, not really wanting to think too hard about it because all it would do was make him want to smash something. Whipping a woman, any woman, for any reason was completely disgusting. "Are you all right?"

It wasn't that - not really. In a bit more, maybe but not now. She wasn't hurting so much physically though it was sweet of him to be concerned.

Eden caught her name spoken followed by his question but didn't move at first. She took just a few more moments to make peace with herself and a ghost that was not really there. Then she relaxed and glanced over her shoulder at Cathair.

"Mm. Fine. It's only... You're the first man I've been intimate in any sort of way with since --" she cut off, not exactly thinking it appropriate to be too direct with her husband's name or her marital status. "I just needed a moment to work through some internal conflict that was entirely unnecessary. It's been long enough."

And then she realized what he could see and shifted her hair back to cover the marks at least partially. She wasn't ashamed - just uncomfortable with them. There was a difference. Right?

Well, he wasn't a complete bastard. Especially considering how nice she'd been treating him. Well, today at least. He was finding it more and more difficult to hold their initial encounter against her.

And that made him feel a bit guilty. Even if she'd started it and they both clearly wanted it. Cathair just nodded, not really certain how to reply to that. It had certainly taken his mind off the scars on her back and well, everything else.

Really, what did one say at a time like this?

"Seven years," she murmured, apparently content to go on without a comment from him. Eden turned to face him, stretching out her legs. "Didn't even have the bleedin' sense to be killed by a human being. Had to go get mauled by a lion," she trailed her fingertips absently along the claw markings on her inner right thigh.

Eden let out a short, sharp breath and shook her head, "Sorry. Awful time to get maudlin, isn't it?" She really was sorry - making him feel uncomfortable had not been her intent. In fact, she hadn't really meant to say any of this but it had come out anyhow. At least she didn't feel like crying.

Saints, now he really felt guilty. And not in the usual Catholic sense for...right. Once again, he'd not started it and seven years was a good long while, but he felt somehow he'd taken advantage of Eden when she was feeling vulnerable.

Cathair had no idea what to say. He just sort of stood there, watching her and fidgeting. "It's all right," he managed. Now he just had to figure out how to gracefully skulk out without her thinking it was anything she'd done. Because it wasn't. It just seemed inappropriate to stay after she'd said all that and looked so terribly sad.

She hadn't been feeling particularly vulnerable when this had started. It was only now but that wasn't his fault and she knew it. Eden was not stupid after all. She just had to come to terms with the fact that she really was past her grief for the most part though naturally some remained. After all, Adam had been her husband, her love - she couldn't just give that all up.

Apparently something about his body language said 'he's about to bolt' to her and she reached out a hand for his, "Come here." There was no room in her tone for argument and if he didn't obey, she'd trip him. Simple as that. Eden had the thought that maybe a touch would break the spell.

He knew it really wasn't his fault. It wasn't hers either. It was just an awkward emotional situation. Which Cathair was horrible with.

He smiled uncertainly at Eden, figuring if he didn't comply she'd likely either smack him or cry. Neither of which seemed like a good idea.

Taking her hand, he settled down on the bed next to her. "All right," he said as he heaved out a long breath. He was out of his depths completely here. He rarely spent the night with any woman he'd ever had sex with.

No, neither were really a very good idea and she didn't want to do either. If she hit him, everything would feel shattered. If she started crying, she would be weak and she couldn't stand being weak.

Before he could be entirely done with that exhale of breath, her mouth found his. She almost desperately wanted to let him know that it was all okay and he didn't have to leave or feel awkward. That was the only way she could really think of doing it; the words she could think of wouldn't really make sense. Her fingers twined with his and she squeezed his hand gently.

Well, for Cathair, it depended if he deserved to be hit. Crying would be much worse. He never knew how to deal with crying.

It was for the best Eden interrupted his sigh and his thoughts. They weren't likely going to be helpful to the situation. Kissing was a lovely distraction from the awkwardness and utterly derailed his guild ridden train of thought.

He didn't deserve to be hit so it was likely a very good thing that she hadn't done it then huh?

She was very glad that it interrupted him as planned and after a moment, she pulled back with a smile. Eden brushed her fingers down along the line of his jaw, "I'm thinking we both need a shower, hmm...?"

Yes, well, he was still a man and she was a beautiful woman snogging him. He wasn't dead, after all.

Cathair's mind took a very quick tangent about how lovely a shower with Eden would be. Yes, that was a great idea. Fantastic. He chuckled softly and nodded. "We do," he agreed, dipping his chin to press a kiss to her palm.

The tangent may have been quick but she was certain, based on previous experience, he wouldn't be. A rush of pink settled in her cheeks in a mixed feeling of embarrassment and awkwardness. Oh they were going to be in so much trouble later - and just with each other.

She hid the feelings well though and it could've just been girlish excitement or some other silly thing. Biting her bottom lip, she made a gesture towards the bathroom with her head and got up. Eden started for the bathroom in a slow walk, making sure to accent the movement of her hips a little bit so hopefully he'd be following every change in the lines of her body.

Cathair wasn't really thinking about that. Especially when she kissed him like that and then strutted towards the bathroom. Right, as if he wasn't following her.

He let Eden get to the doorway before he rose from the bed himself. Catching her in his arms from behind, he nuzzled her neck. Apparently, round three was about to begin.
