TEAM SATISFACTION + CARLY GROUP INTERVIEW! part two
Continued from this entry. Also posted to ygo_5ds.
-->Watch for the unpredictable plot and the impressive new characters
Interviewer: What do you focus on in your performance? Miyashita: Yuusei doesn’t express his emotions very well, so I can’t let him be too playful. Where you would normally laugh out loud, I have to hold it down, and so on.
Ono: In order to get into the world of the show, I duel at home first.
Asanuma: By yourself? Isn’t that awfully hard? :-)
Ono: I build tension by shouting things like “My turn!” Then I get to the studio early and play against other people before tackling the real take.
Chan: And that’s why Kiryuu is so creepy. :-)
Ono: I’ll take that as a compliment. :-)
Asanuma: I play Crow from a child’s point of view, but it’s difficult. If he gets too suave, then it’s not Crow.
Chan: Carly is the only ordinary person here. So she should bring a fresh kind of tension, like ending a serious scene on a comic note.
Hoshino: As we get into the new plot developments, Jack is interacting with people more. So I think I’d like to show more of Jack’s human side, not just his dueling.
Chan: That’s what’s so cool about Jack.
Asanuma: So that’s the way you’re going to be about it? :-) But I get the feeling it’s thanks to Carly that Jack’s softer side is coming out.
Hoshino: Jack will try to be a better man from now on. :-)
Ono: I’ll try hard, too.
Hoshino: Don’t, if Kiryuu tries too hard, everyone will back away. :-)
Miyashita: In the scene where Yuusei and Kiryuu shout “Duel!” at the same time, Ono-kun was supposed to signal “Ready, set,” before our line so we could synchronize our timing. Usually, in this case you’d whisper the signal, right? But Ono-kun said, “Ready, set!” out loud, so we all laughed. :-)
Ono: I’m sorry. I was being Kiryuu when I said it, so it came out louder than I expected.
Miyashita: I never heard such a cool-sounding “Ready, set!” before. :-)
Interviewer: In conclusion, what’s ahead that you’re excited about?
Ono: For Kiryuu, it’s how he’s going to beat down Yuusei. I’ll do my best to get you to feel Kiryuu’s enthusiasm.
Asanuma: I think more stories involving the characters’ past are coming up. Even we don’t know what developments are ahead, but I’d like to be a character who leaves a memorable impression.
Chan: As for me, I have hopes for the relationship between Jack and Carly. They’ve already played as a team once. I hope the viewers enjoy it too!
Hoshino: Apart from the main story, I’m looking forward to how Jack will make a comeback after his fall. I’d also like a clear layout of our opposition to the Dark Signers.
Miyashita: I think what this story most wants to show are the ties between people. It portrays important things like the ties between friends, and I hope it can be a healing work that lifts your spirits to watch. Please keep watching for future developments.
[Translator’s Random Notes: That’s all, just two sections this time. Everyone seems to be teasing Ono, I don’t know why.]
