Characters: Tristan, Hugo
Time/Date: 8:15ish AM, October 22
Location: His room, the suite, Hugo's room
Warnings/Rating: None
Summary: Tris wakes up and thinks he smells a live Hugo
Status: Complete

They'd been warned about the relocation, so the headache and the change of surroundings wasn't a huge surprise to him. They'd been honest about that, at any rate, right? Even as he stretched and shifted and yawned and woke up, Tristan could feel the pull of the moon. He put 'raiding Sev's room' on his to-do list, but he didn't need the potion until this evening. So he could just explore his way up there, raid the room when he found it.

He'd dressed in PJ pants and a tee-shirt before bed last night, and he figured that was enough to wander around in. Stepping out of his bedroom, he found himself in a suite -- but that was no surprise. Hugo had mentioned that. He'd also mentioned LilyLu and John sharing a room, and he thought he'd have to try to go find them later and torment them.

Tris glanced to the door to the other bedroom and he shook his head. They still had Hugo's name on the door? That was just ... sick. He crossed to the door, intending to pull the sign off, though he paused at the door. Funny, but it sounded like ... snoring. Behind the door. In Hugo's room. He tilted his head as he tried to work that one out.

It smelled like Hugo, too. So ... Hugo wasn't dead? They'd tormented them with images of clawed corpses that weren't corpses? Or were just some corpses? Tristan suddenly wondered if everyone here thought that people left behind had died somehow, and the thought made him grimace.

Twisting the knob on Hugo's door, he pushed it open. Blue eyes shifted toward the bed and he studied the shape under the covers. Definitely Hugo-smell, and Hugo-shape. Tris crept closer until he could see Hugo's face, and he studied him very curiously. "So, not dead," he said mostly to himself before he crawled into Hugo's bed, over the covers. He grinned as he got a better idea.

Drawing up to his knees, Tristan started to bounce on the bed. "EARTHQUAKE!" He laughed as he reached down to shake Hugo's shoulder. "Weasley, quick, it's an earthquake!"

Hugo thought he heard a voice and then the bed shifted. He blinked his eyes open just as the bed began to shake violently and there was a moment where he was genuinely startled and thought they were having a real earthquake. He wasn't sure why he wasn't more concerned that a dead person was narrating the earthquake as it happened, but he wasn't at his best first thing in the morning.

He sat up quickly, heart hammering. When brown eyes focused on Tristan, a slow grin spread across his lips and he shook his head. "Bloody hell," he swore through a laugh, reaching towards the other wizard and pulling him into a hug even if the position was sort of awkward for it.

"Funny, I thought you'd smell a lot worse, being dead and all." It was easy to joke now that Tristan was obviously not dead. Drawing back enough to regard Tris with a bit of concern, he asked, "Lily? Is she all right? Hell, is everyone all right? They... they said there was an earthquake and the hotel collapsed and you were all dead. There was a video."

"You've got it all wrong mate," Tris laughed as he returned the embrace, falling onto his side on the bed. "Nothing happened. We got some bears, but they were reasonable. Took their armor and headed down to the end of the island to plot the demise of the fuckers that kidnapped all of us."

He shook his head. "Everyone's fine. It's you lot that got mauled by bears. Lily and Snape and Lizzy were shown in close up, and everyone else was kind of implied. They're fine, aren't they?"

Tristan was not exactly pleased at the way they'd been so neatly played, and he shook his head. "She'll probably hit you when she sees you're alive. She ..." Tris hesitated. "Well, it was bad. I've never actually seen her sad, let alone depressed, but ... she was in a state. I ... was a bad friend because I was more fussed about finding a safe place to hole up for the moon, but ..."

He trailed off. "Going to guess that Snape's room's not empty, so I probably shouldn't go raid it for the potion, huh?"

Hugo flopped back onto his bed, rolling onto his side to face the other boy and propping himself up with an elbow. "Everyone's fine here. Haven't seen any bears," he confirmed, his grin fading some as the whole situation stirred up conflicting emotions. He was pissed, and relieved, happy, angry.

He hadn't been in a very good state himself so he wasn't surprised to hear that Lily had been depressed. It was difficult to imagine her like that, but he'd never considered himself a depressive sort of person, either.

"As long as she doesn't hex me, I'll call it a good day," he decided, his grin returning some and he shook his head. "Might be funny if you did. You know he's got a woman suite mate?"

He knew it didn't necessarily mean they were shagging -- he was sharing with Tristan after all and they weren't -- but the possibility was still disturbing to him. He didn't know Snape well at all, but he'd heard stories and knew history and just ... couldn't imagine.

Tristan laughed softly at Hugo's revelation. "Well, maybe she'll make him a little less frightening then," he teased. Not that he was frightened of the older wizard, but they'd all heard stories around school. Second, third, fourth-hand information, granted, but every story had a grain of truth, right?

"I'll pass along the news to hex you if I see her first," Tristan offered with a wink. "Maybe John will restrain her for you," he added.

He really was pleased to see the other wizard here, to know that (presumably) everyone had survived and no one had actually died like the videos had shown.

"I should really probably go find a potion. Or Remus." Or both, ultimately, but if Remus was already out fetching potions, Tris wouldn't bother. "And breakfast," he added thoughtfully. "And a tourguide so I can find all the important places. Up for that?"

"Thanks," he replied with an exaggerated roll of his eyes and he might have actually managed to look annoyed at Tristan's offer to tell Lily to hex him if he wasn't grinning. He had a feeling that everyone being alive would keep him grinning for at least a day or until something else horrible happened; it was difficult to decide which would come first.

"I'm up for it," he waggled his brows playfully before rolling onto his back to stretch his arms up in the air. Tilting his head to gaze over at the other boy, he smiled, "Should probably go say hello to Lily, too. Get my hexing out of the way. Think they're already up?"

He didn't want to interrupt if John and Lily were ... breaking in their new bed, but he was eager to confirm that his cousin was actually alive and he knew he'd catch hell if he didn't let her know he was alive in a decent amount of time.

"Up, and probably shagging. I'd slip a note under her door first if I were you. Because if I was me, I'd stand outside her door and make monkey noises." He felt a faint pang at that; he'd done that to Ace and Mitch before they'd moved out.

He really, really missed home some days. Most days.

"Suppose I really don't need to set about making an enemy of John though. He might set my hair on fire or something." Tristan grinned to Hugo before he pushed away from the bed. He wondered if he should get dressed before going to pester Severus for the potion, and decided not to bother.

"Catch you 'round then. Probably down in the kitchen for breakfast if not somewhere else." He grinned, but figured they should probably have a start on their explorations before it got too late.

"Right and bald or scorched might not be a good look for you," Hugo decided as he sat up and then eased out of bed, covering his mouth as he yawned. He found a pair of trousers on the floor and pulled them on as he grinned over at the other boy.

"Sounds good. See you in a bit." He thought he would send Lily a network post and then head down for breakfast ... and go knock on her door if she hadn't noticed the post by the time he was done eating.

"Good luck getting the potion," he added, mostly teasing since he didn't expect Tristan to have any problems.
