Time/Date: Nighttime, June 29
Location: Roaming around by the gas station
Warnings/Rating: Insanity
Summary: Dru wonders why the stars aren't real
Status: Complete

The snow was mostly gone, though tiny patches hid still in pockets of shadows. She scuffed her slippered foot through one of the snow-slush patches and studied the crystallized ice that clung to her shoe before she shook it off. "Nasty little pixies," she murmured. "Clinging where they shouldn't and making such a mess."

Dark eyes half closed as she moved as if dancing with someone, a long forgotten step she'd known so well in her younger days. Days before the madness. She lifted her arms and laughed as she twirled, seeing things she'd long since forgotten.

"Mummy's gone and left us all," Drusilla whispered. "But where are my boys? Captured and waiting or roaming free?" She laughed aloud and stilled herself, tipping her head as she gazed into the distance.

"All the voices have stopped," she whispered. "I heard voices once before. The stars sang to me, and they've all gone quiet now ..." Gazing up toward the sky, she studied the pattern of the stars and tried to place what, exactly, was wrong with them.

It was her first day where she really felt she had the ability to explore, aside from her little mall venture to pick up some swim things, so she decided to take things at a walking pace today. That being the case she was very bouncy, what with all the excess energy she had due to not running.

She could see a lot of small patches of snow around as she walked around, and after a few minutes, she had a great idea. She sped up to her blurred movement point, and ran around the area, gathering a lot of snow into one area. As she did so, she noticed a woman dancing around. She didn't think anything of it at first, plus she was busy getting the snow into one area.

After doing so, she sped around and around the snow, creating a snow man, about her height. Pleased with her work, she smiled for a bit, but the thought of the last time she made a snowman caused a tear to fall from her eye. The smile remained, but her body was calming down a bit due to the memory.

She looked over at the woman as she was talking, wondering what she was talking about. The thought to ask her did cross her mind, but it wasn't a strong enough urge to truly do anything, so she just looked to the sky, thinking maybe she could figure out what the woman was talking about.

Drusilla didn't miss the little girl speeding about, faster than even her eyes could follow. "Unnatural," she decided as she watched the construction of the snowman. The irony of the statement was utterly lost on her as she drifted over closer to the girl.

"Made a friend because you can't find one of flesh and blood?" she cooed, though that brought to mind a doll she used to have. What ever had happened to that doll?

"Little pet took a trip I think," she whispered, more detached from the conversation than not. "Followed me far but not all the way home." Home. Her dark eyes closed as her lips curved into a slight frown.

"I should want to eat you," she declared as she focused her attention on Kara. "Why don't I?"

Kara immediately backed up a few steps. She knew she could likely outrun this woman, but that didn't mean she was going to let herself be within grabbing distance after that statement. "No," she informed the woman, "I just was bored and there was snow around, so I made a snowman."

She took another couple of steps, allowing the snowman to be between the two of them. "What do you mean, you want to eat me?" She had the feeling she knew, but just in case she was wrong about the crazy woman, she figured she'd ask.

Drusilla tilted her head, a chuckle starting deep in her throat, a staccatto sound that echoed slightly in the back of her mouth. "What do you think I meant? Made of pumpkin and spice and everything nice, blood and guts, yummy pie," the vampire whispered.

She feigned a lunge at the girl, giggling to herself. "No one to share you with. All mine." She pouted slightly. "They're late. They've lost their watches, lost the date."

Inhaling to sigh, she gazed at the snowman before drifting her focus back to the girl, simply gazing at her, unblinking.

Kara moved at a blur back a step when Drusilla acted as the she were going to lunge for her. This woman was definitely crazy. Some sort of cannibal or something. "I can't be all that yummy, I mean look at me," she told the girl, slightly sarcastic, but still on the frightened side. "I'm all skin and bone."

Her eyes were really freaking Kara out also. They looked cold and dead. She was ready to move at a moment's notice. The woman didn't look incredibly strong or anything, but she was still at least twice Kara's age, so she probably still had enough strength to overpower her.

Her mind worked rapidly, trying to figure out what was best to do. If she left, and this woman was really going to try and eat someone, Kara wouldn't be able to live with not doing something, so she tried to think of a plan.

Drusilla giggled. "Thinks I'm after her skin and bones," she whispered before she shook her head. "No, no," she corrected with a wagging forefinger. "Those are scraps for the dogs, for the rats. What I should want is what pulses red hot through your veins."

She chuckled again. "Drinking down my dinner every night," she murmured. "Always a puppy or a kitty but why not a child? They are puppies to me ..."

But she was perfectly content with the dogs and cats she found in her room. They'd mocked Angelus for dining on rats; how was this so very different? Her brow furrowed as she struggled to work that one out.

She could eat the child, but she wasn't driven to do so. She was more or less sated, though there was still the factor of sport.

Wondering what would happen if she chased, Dru cocked her head to one side.

Kara nearly vomited at the thought of it. "You want to drink my blood?" She asked with complete disgust in her voice, "What do you think you are? A vampire or something?"

Crazy lady was only getting crazier and crazier as the conversation continued. Well, conversation may not be the correct word. She wondered, if the lady thought she was a vampire, would she be repelled by the same things vampires are supposed to be repelled by?

Was she crazy enough to actually fear things like garlic and crosses? She doubted she could get any holy water, but she could probably melt some water and tell her it's holy water.

Of course all her ideas at the moment were based on the crazy lady being crazy enough to believe she was a real vampire. That didn't make her too confident on them working.

Dru sighed softly. "I am a vampire," she breathed dreamily before she fixed her attention firmly on Kara.

With a slight shake of her head, she let her face contort, her fangs descend, and she gazed at the girl now through the yellowed eyes of a monster. Curling her lips back to bare her fangs, she once again feinted toward Kara, her arms lifted in a mimicry of Dracula from movies.

Giggling insanely, she let her face shift back as she retreated slightly. "Gets to give the pretty girl nightmares," she whispered before she exhaled. "Be afraid," she simpered. "It smells so pretty when they're afraid."

"You wouldn't be able to lay a finger on me," she said to the vampire, in spite of the obvious fear coursing through her. She was a real vampire. How was that possible. This was like some horror movie. Her eyes darted around for some sort of pointed wooden object, and then her mind was just hoping that the myth about wooden stakes was real.

The crazy vampire lady was wrong. Kara was not going to have nightmares about her, but it was because she wasn't going to sleep. Even Kara becomes as fast as anyone else while she's asleep. The thought was not comforting.

She was really getting to hate this place. First it was super hot, then a blizzard, now a vampire. What next? Godzilla?

Dru giggled and clapped her hands together, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet, much like an excited child on Christmas might. "Lay all my fingers on you," she taunted. "Fingers and teeth, biting and holding," she chanted before she laughed and tipped her head back.

Reveling in the fear-smell coming off the girl, Drusilla exhaled a happy sigh. "Puppies don't smell this good." Animals never did. They feared, but it wasn't the same knowing way that people feared.

"Not likely," she retorted, "No one can catch me. Not even if they had a a race car." She moved at a few hundred miles per hour and decorated Mr. Snowman with random bits she could find around her, so as to prove her point.

After her proof of speed, she was feeling slightly more confident in herself, so she smirked, "I have no need to fear you, Slowpoke."

That was definitely her regular attitude showing through now. More defiant and seemingly fearless. She wouldn't want the crazy vampire chick to hurt anyone else, too, so she hoped that she could make herself the uncatchable target.

Drusilla watched the little blur, her brow furrowing in consternation. Definitely unnatural, and no fair at all. "Not playing by the rules," she whispered. "If Mummy and Daddy were here, we could box you in and eat you up," Dru murmured to herself.

She tipped her chin up to gaze at the silent stars. No singing, no flickering, nothing to indicate they were alive like they were supposed to be.

"Little liar," Dru murmured when the girl denied her fear. She wasn't as afraid, but she still scented of it.

Perhaps though, there were slightly less annoying targets somewhere else. With one last disdainful look, Dru turned away from Kara to continue ther nighttime stroll.

Though Kara was close to fine, she was very relieved to see the crazy vampire leave. She released a sigh of relief and checked the time. Her eyes widened when she realized how late it had gotten. She should have been to the mall and back with dog toys by then.

She took one more look at the woman before vanishing in a blur, heading to the mall. Despite the fact that the dog was apparently having nightmares, Kara was becoming more and more happy about having Dug in the room tonight.
