"They only fall down in like... poor countries with shacks and crap like that," John insisted, oh so sensitively. Of course, he didn't know how sound the structure of the building was here, but it seemed pretty sturdy to him. "Millions of people live in California and they have earthquakes all the time. They have big ass buildings too that never fell down."
Well, as far as he knew, but he felt confident in his assessment of California and earthquakes.
"Like once, yeah. They're pretty rare on the east coast though," and he liked it that way. He wrapped an arm around her as he settled back against the bed, still a little tense. His hand stroked rhythmically against her bare back and he focused on the feel of her body against his own instead of wondering if there would be aftershocks.
