Lily lifted her head long enough to glance over Balthazar's bare chest to peer at the alarm clock before she wiggled closer to him. She still had a few minutes before she had to head down to start on breakfast, and she liked these early morning lay-ins. When it was just them, naked bodies pressed together in the lazy, sleepy way that mornings were for them.
She usually didn't like to wake him; just because she was going down to make breakfast didn't mean he had to be up. But sometimes she liked to see how much he could sleep through (or pretend to sleep through) before he woke up.
Easing her body half over his, bare breasts brushing against his chest, she pressed her lips tenderly to his. She sucked softly on his lower lip before she reached over to slip the switch to turn the alarm off. Only ... her fingers encountered something that was not the alarm clock, and she lifted her head to see what it was.
Plucking the necklace from where it rested on the nightstand, she frowned. It was heavy, definitely not to her tastes, and it looked ... older. Or old fashioned. Like ... like from his time. Like something he'd give his true love. Lily's nostrils flared a little; she was agitated at the reminder. But it wasn't as though he didn't have reminders of her future running around in the flesh here. She couldn't get bent out of shape about a necklace.
"Love?" she murmured as she let the necklace spill from her hand back onto the table. "Love, you should wake up," she pressed gently as she peered down at him.
