RP: Out of the Dark
Characters: Chase, Hugo
Time/Date: afternoon, September 25
Location: roof / pool area
Warnings/Rating: language, slurs, inappropriate topics. Chase being Chase, a magic fight
Summary: Chase is irritated
Status: Complete

Chase would deny until his dying day that he'd been hiding in his closet for the last twenty-four hours of the invasion, wrapped in two blankets. He'd left only to use the bathroom, though even that had been something of a trial to even care about. He snacked on a bag of Doritos he'd had stashed in his drawer. They were stale, but at least it was food.

Then, just after midnight, he realized that everything had stopped. It wasn't cold, and he wasn't drowning in memories of his past. After uncurling stiff limbs, Chase hobbled his way to the shower to try to warm the rest of the way up. After that, he'd crashed hard, sleeping through most of the afternoon.

After he woke up, he felt better. Not great; he was still harboring some of the lingering effects, but at least he wasn't crippled by the memories. He'd headed down to the kitchen to snatch a quick lunch before disappearing into the elevator to head up to the roof. Now that the darkness was gone, it was ... nicer up here. Even knowing the sun was fake, he'd still rather be up here than down there. He'd ... missed the light, and his magic wasn't really the sort that made light.

Settling himself down in one of the lounge chairs on the deck, Chase stripped off his shirt to fully enjoy the fake sun -- and to think up ways to further torment the residents so he'd feel better.

Hugo made his way up to the roof, a sketchbook tucked under his arm. He really wasn't an artist by any stretch of the imagination, but drawing was something he'd always wanted to be good at and it was something to pass the time, even if he mostly ended up doodling or drawing lame three dimensional shapes.

As he stepped out into the sunlight, he grinned and noticed that he wasn't alone. He wasn't terribly surprised; he didn't imagine he was the only one wanting to enjoy the outside world now that the dementors were gone. The bloke wasn't someone he recognized, but as Hugo was relatively new, this also wasn't surprising to him.

"Nice to be outside again, yeah?" He said by way of greeting as he made his way over to a chair and eased down onto it, "I wasn't made to be stuck inside.

"I'm Hugo, by the way," he added as he opened the book and settled it against his knees, shifting his gaze to Chase with an easy smile.

Chase glanced over to the guy he did not recognize, and jerked his chin in a slight nod of greeting to acknowledge the other boy. For a minute, he thought that would be that, that he'd be content to shut up, but no, he was going to engage Chase in idle conversation.

Well, that's what he got for coming up here, right?

"So you always drop your life story to every guy you meet?" Chase asked before he closed his eyes. He drew up his power before he grinned a little and flicked his fingers slightly to send a burst of magic toward the sketchbook with the intent of knocking it off the other boy's lap.

"Chase," he offered.

If Hugo hadn't been looking at Chase and spotted his little finger flick which not so mysteriously coincided with his sketchbook flying off his lap, he probably would have thought it was some weird... gust of wind. But no, it was apparently Chase being charming. He went from looking briefly perplexed to giving the other bloke a 'haha, very cute' sort of look.

"Not always. I save my life story for prats who aren't really interested," he shared with a grin, withdrawing his wand from his pocket and accioing his book back to his lap. "I tell jokes to people I like.

"What sort of magic have you got, then?" He asked curiously, since he didn't think the other bloke was the Hogwarts sort. Well, he sounded American, for one, but he would have been interested in knowing what the American schools were like because he could just tell Chase was the sort who'd want to sit around the chat with him about that.

Chase shrugged. The sort he was born with? A sort he wasn't going to hand over? The sort that killed him? "Different from yours," he settled on.

He closed his eyes and pulled his power up to the surface. When he opened his eyes again, they were the black of any witch ready to use. "The kind that doesn't need a wand and prissy Latin spell words to work," he added.

Chase winked, and a rough breeze ruffled Hugo's hair before Chase cocked his head away to back it off.

Knocking around books and blowing breezes was nothing though. But if he did the big things, the things he wanted to do, he'd age himself. He kind of liked how pretty he looked right now.

It was sort of neat the way the other bloke's eyes turned black. Once the breeze stopped, he ran a hand through his hair, but it had flopped mostly back into place on its own anyway.

"Hey now, Latin is hardly prissy," Hugo pointed out with a shake of his head. "It was spoken by Romans. They were pretty tough with their ... big spears and red feathers in their helmets. Bet if they were here right now, they'd feed you to the lions."

He raised his wand to show it off, "Wands aren't all bad, either. I mean, think of all the built in penis jokes you get just by having one. Would you like to see my wand? My wand is ten inches. My wand is made from the strongest wood around."

With a grin, he shrugged his shoulders, "Is wind your specialty or can you do other things as well?"

"Romans were fags," Chase said bluntly before he shrugged one shoulder. Didn't matter to him how big their spears were, though he wondered if Hugo cared. He smirked at that thought. "If they tried to feed me to the lions, no contest," he bragged. Because really, what was a whole pride of lions against his magic? Nothing, that was what.

"You seem to be a little fixated on that," Chase observed. "Bringing up the Romans and then talking about your dick? Tryin' to tell me something?" He fixed his now-blue eyes on Hugo, one brow lifted and the corners of his lips curling up slowly. "Not into that, thanks."

At his last question, Chase smirked outright. "I can do anything."

"You're probably thinking of the Greeks," Hugo corrected, though he knew Chase was just being a prick and his posture changed from free and easy to a bit stiffer, "but gay sex was also common between Roman men and their slaves so I suppose I'll give you a couple points, there.

"But yes, I was trying to tell you that I'm a big fag myself and boy, you've just charmed me right into wanting your cock. Are you sure you're not into it? Perhaps some of your bullying urges come from repressed homosexual tendencies and you really just need a good, hard dick to make you feel better."

He had his doubts that Chase could do anything; he'd yet to see the bloke be nice and while he suddenly wasn't terribly inclined to stick around, he stubbornly didn't want to leave. Maybe he could gay Chase right off the roof.

Chase snorted, and wondered if that was one of those 'every jokes has a grain of truth' thing. He wasn't gay, and he wasn't homophobic (or homo-hatric; he disliked all people equally regardless of what sort of sexcapades they engaged in), but he grinned all the same.

"Bullying urges?" he replied. He supposed, yeah, he had been harassing people ... but not enough. Not nearly enough. He could count on one hand the ... okay, maybe two hands ... the number of people he'd actively harassed here. "Bullying, really?" Chase repeated before he rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"Like to think of it as harassing, personally," he said before he shrugged again. "But if I did need a good hard dick to make me feel better, I could do better than yours," Chase shot at him with a sort of predatory, challenging expression.

He was pretty sure he could take this one in a fight (fair or otherwise), and maybe it was time he started picking on people that might give him a challenge.

The logical, self preserving part of Hugo's mind was telling him that it was time to take his leave. He didn't know anything about Chase's magic and he'd never had to use his own in a serious fight before. Trading hexes with cousins was very different than a real fight with a stranger.

However, there was another, louder part -- probably the Weasley part -- that refused to walk away. This was his roof as much as Chase's and he wasn't going to be chased away. Yeah, take that, you jerk.

"Bullying," Hugo confirmed. "I mean, knocking my book on the ground and calling people fags? Sounds like typical thirteen year old boy stuff to me.

"That's just as well," he added in response to Chase's remark about finding a better dick. He grinned, managing to mostly hide that the situation may have been making him a tad nervous, "Reckon you couldn't get me hard anyway."

Chase smiled. Well, he'd never claimed to be a grown up, had he? "But you're into that right? Makes you hot?" The smile evolved into a grin.

"I could make you hard," Chase replied. He could, literally, he was pretty sure. He'd never tried before, but he didn't think it would be that hard to manipulate the other boy's body.

His eyes -- black once more -- lingered on Hugo, focused in the area of his pants. He wasn't doing anything -- yet -- but he wanted to see how Hugo reacted to the potential threat of a forced erection.

"I told you," Chase growled. "I can do anything."

This had very quickly gone to a very strange place. Hugo furrowed his brow at the bizarre threat, unsure what to make of it or how he felt about it. It was ... an uncomfortable thought, at the least, and strange because he was pretty sure if Chase wasn't an ass and saying this out of anger, it might have been fun to see if someone could turn him on with magic.

He shrugged, his grip on his wand tightening as he watched the other boy. It was obvious where Chase was looking, but he... didn't feel anything. Still, he shifted with nervous, self conscious energy.

"Doesn't surprise me. Can't imagine you managing to arouse someone any other way," he taunted, logic again warring with pride. Logic was fighting a losing battle. At this point, he wasn't even sure how to leave. Did he say anything? Just stand up and walk away, hoping Chase didn't do anything when his back was turned? So the obvious thing to do was to keep digging his grave.

That was irritating, and Chase's lips curled slightly to bare his teeth. He had very few qualms about actually attacking anyone else here, though so far he'd kept his harassment to simple mindfucks, illusions, things like that. Sure, one of those instances had gotten him kicked and nearly broke his jaw, but what did that matter.

His manly pride bristled at the insult, and he had only refrained himself around Caleb and the others because he was playing them. There was no one to play, here. Plus, he had a lot of built up rage to work off. "Guess you got me there," he said before he thrust one hand forward toward Hugo, sending a wave of power at the other boy. He meant to simply knock him off the chair and not off the deck, but ... well, he was kind of in a mood right now.

Not that he'd needed an excuse to knock Hugo around. Not after that conversation.

That, Hugo had not been expecting. He'd fully planned on hexing the other bloke if he felt anything happening in his pants area, but instead he was hit suddenly by... he didn't even know what and was knocked off the chair with a pained thud.

What the fuck?

"Stupify!" He shouted from his ass on the ground, aiming his wand towards the other boy. Feeling very much out of his element, he scrambled up to his feet without watching to see if his spell landed and putting up a shield charm hopefully before Chase had time to fling anything else at him.

So he'd obviously hung around one insult too many. Good to know.

Chase grunted as he saw the flash of red light coming toward him. He ducked out of the way, though he wondered if it had been necessary; Hugo's aim couldn't have been that great from his position, right? Chase laughed a little as he watched Hugo stand up.

He didn't see the shield, or even really feel it, so ... imagine his surprise when the next flash of magic he swept toward Hugo bounced back toward him, knocking the lounge chairs out of the way.

A fractured laugh parted his lips as he focused his black eyes on Hugo, and he wondered if there was away around ... whatever had thrown the magic back at him, or if it was a one-time deal only. Clenching his jaw, Chase swept several balls of magic toward Hugo, aiming for his feet, his middle, and his head, reasoning that at least one had to get by the barricade.

Okay, he wanted to call a truce or something, but he doubted that would go over very well. He also wanted to apparate, but he knew that wouldn't work since he had tried to apparate off the island shortly after arriving and of course, he wasn't able to. So he was going to have to be more creative.

He didn't waste any time in putting up another shield charm as he began to run for the stairs, suddenly not as concerned with leaving first as he had been not that long ago. While running, he fired off a few spells of his own -- body bind, levitation spell, confundus charm -- in hopes one would hit and give him a bit of breathing room in his escape.

Unfortunately, his shield slipped or was broken through and a blast of magic hit his feet, knocking them out from under him and he grunted as he hit the floor hard.

Chase would have noticed and had a good laugh if he wasn't suddenly very, very confused. His attention was drawn to the pool, and he wasn't completely sure why. Shaking his head, he lifted one hand to his temple in an attempt to figure out why, exactly, he couldn't get his thoughts straight.

Blinking dumbly, Chase focused his attention on Hugo before he sneered slightly and made a sweeping 'get out of here' gesture. He knew he'd been attacking him, and as soon as he could think straight, he'd get right back on that.

He wondered a little if Hugo was going to bring friends after him, but he was kind of looking forward to the challenge.

Hugo had expected to feel the shock of another energy ball thing after his fall, but when he didn't, he pushed up to his feet, wincing and glancing over towards Chase. He felt a little bit of relief wash through him as he was pretty sure the Confundus had hit.

All right, he'd rather have had the body bind, but he wasn't going to be a chooser.

"Stupefy!" He called once more -- with much better aim this time. He didn't put much force behind the spell, however, but he just wanted to knock the bastard over. However, he didn't wait to see how it turned out and instead made a hasty exit.

He imagined when his adrenaline wore off, he was going to hurt.
