RP: Just a Little Upset
Characters: Chase, Jacen
Time/Date: early afternoon, September 3
Location: roof/pool area
Warnings/Rating: Chase is in full-on asshole mode, and he's pissed. You do the math >:D
Summary: Chase is ... a little miffed about the no-magic thing ::cough::
Status: Dropped

Fury didn't begin to cover the feelings that morning. He'd read the network posts. Laughed at the girl freaking out about her wand. And then he'd tried to use. The power didn't so much as twitch inside of him. So he tried again, and again, and again until he finally very nearly broke his knuckles against the wall when he punched it in a fit of fury.

Shaking his hand, he glared around the room as if it was somehow the room's fault he couldn't do magic. He couldn't even feel it, but he knew it had to be there. If it wasn't, he'd be dead. So ... the magic was there, he just couldn't get to it.

Couldn't get to it inside. What about the roof?

It was the dumbest theory, but he wasn't exactly thinking coherently.

Chase took the elevator up to the roof and reached out for his power again. He fisted his hands, then splayed his fingers, did everything he could to try to access the power, to get past whatever was blocking it. By the time he was done trying, he was panting and slightly red in the face, and beyond furious.

In a rage, he kicked at one of the lounge chairs, sending it skittering across the deck. It was an impotent rage though - there was nothing, absolutely nothing, he could do with his power, and it only increased his desire to kill the bastards that had brought him here.

Jacen had been here before of course. Powerless, cut off from the Force at Vergere's whims and broken only to be rebuilt. It had become his job to bring order, a gardener cutting out the weeds that threatened to choke the better things. He'd learned a lot about himself in those months and so this, as infuriating as it was, would not break him. It did put a hold on his training Luke, thought he wondered how his younger-than-him Uncle would manage being cut off from the power he was only now discovering. And wasn't that the interesting little situation. Jacen hoped he could at least get back to the training. They'd said this issue wouldn't last forever and it wasn't like he had anywhere else to be. Dammnation was overrated.

He'd decided that the roof seemed like a good place to contemplate, open air, high up away from distractions. It probably would have taken his Force Sense for Jacen to know he wasn't alone up there before the chair came flying across to land at his feet just before he opened the door.

"...Not coping well with the word from on High?" he asked amused, managing to sidestep the chair before it hit him in the shin. That would have annoyed him immensely. "They've insinuated it won't be long before we get back what we lost and do they really have any reason to lie about that? Now are you going to be sulky up here or can I meditate? Would you mind?"

Making friends the Jacen way. He used to be better at the genuine socializing end of things.

"They don't have any reason not to lie, either," Chase shot back. By now, his eyes should've been black and he should've had half the roof torn up (if he'd wanted to, and right now, he did), but he couldn't do anything except hit and kick and bite if it came to that.

Using was simply a habit now. One that was slowly killing him, sure, and he tried not to do big things ... but little things, like making darklings for people in the immediate area to see, or creating spiders to terrify small children.

Little things.

Now, he couldn't do anything.

While he had half a mind to tell the guy to kindly get the fuck off his roof, it wasn't as though it actually was his roof. Still, he'd been here first, and a fight was a fight, even if he had to pick it over the most pointless of issues.

"First, I'm not being sulky," Chase retorted. "And I don't give a fuck what you do up here," he concluded.

The guy had a point, Jacen would give him that. These mysterious people were still new to him and had managed to strip him of the Force entirely so were not without their power. They were something to be respected if not feared, He didn't do fear. But this guy. He was unsure what to make of his fellow roof-dweller as of yet beyond strange. It seemed to be the most acceptable word he could use. But there was one thing he had to point out to the guy.

"You're being a little sulky" he responded amusement in his voice. And he was, there was definite sulking there. Though he supposed the man had every right to sulk if he'd once had power and now had lost it. Jacen was even maybe sulking, a little. Just quietly. Stoicly and everything.

"Have you been here long. Its possible you know more about this place than I do, and if these people do this kind of thing a lot maybe we can work out a pattern, or their tactics or something."

It was worth a shot wasn't it? And see, he could be social.

Chase snorted. Baby Boy dealt with the tactics and leadership bullshit. Chase just harassed people because it was fun. He couldn't steal anyone's power here - especially not now - so he'd defaulted to just being a dick to everyone.

He decided not to point out there was a difference between sulking and having a fit. Sulking was pouting in a corner. Chase wasn't pouting. But if he tried to argue semantics, it would look like pussy justification, so let the guy think he was sulking. What did he care?

"Few months," he admitted with a shrug. "Not long enough to have a longest member badge, but long enough to know this people don't dick around." Sure, they'd never outright lied before, but it wasn't like taunting them was much of a step away from lying. This was probably just another form of taunting. A 'look what I can do and you can't stop me' sort.
