RP: Who Brings the Fun?
Characters: LilyLu, Sam
Time/Date: Evening, 9/2
Location: outside
Warnings/Rating: Energy?
Summary: LilyLu explores the world outside the hotel
Status: Dropped

She'd chatted with her father and met her grandmother and she'd seen that Moore was around here somewhere. She sort of hoped to bump into him; at least he knew how to properly prank a place. And from what she'd seen, this place needed a few good pranks. Several, actually. Everyone was so edgy and tense. Except for the people who were probably wanking to the porn. It disturbed her to think that some people might be wanking to her parents or her grandparents and ... ew.

So she decided to abandon the indoors for a bit.

Outside though wasn't that much more appealing. The sky looked nice (even though someone had said it was fake) but there were no brooms, which meant no quidditch. That was intolerable. Absolutely intolerable. She'd tried transfiguring some pieces of wood, and while she'd gotten them to be vaguely broom-shaped, that was about the extent of it. So she'd abandoned that in favor of just ... exploring.

She'd visited the grave markers, and the stores, and the mall, and now she was simply roaming about outside, looking at the line and giving some semi-serious contemplation to having a go at it.

What was the worst that could happen, really?

Sam was frustrated. This wasn't where he belonged. He was supposed to be in Atlanta right now, working on a case involving the unusual combination of ghosts and shapeshifters. At the same time, Sam was sort of relieved that he had been brought here. Now that he was out of the pit, Sam really only had one thing that he planned on doing: hunting. What better way to distract himself from what had really happened in Hell than to focus on ridding the world of all the things responsible for him having been dragged down there in the first place? Sam had worked relentlessly at fighting the supernatural ever since he'd gotten away from Lucifer; now that he was here, Sam figured that this was just another part of his life. Some screwed up bastards wanted to abduct people and experiment on them? Fine. Clearly, these people weren't just twisted scientists. They knew things. They were capable of bringing on things that regular people wouldn't have been able to begin to dream of. They had attacked these people with monsters - or so he had heard - and that made Sam very aware of the fact that they were far more dangerous than any average person with a fucked up fetish for abducting people for experiments could ever be. So, ever since Sam had arrived, he'd spent all his time digging around. Seeking out different means of escape, trying to figure out who was in charge of what - it wasn't easy, but it was better than standing around, waving his hands in the air, and cursing the people that had brought him here.

People. That was if they were even human.

Sam had decided to head out and check the lines that he'd heard so much talk about. They were supposedly dangerous to step past, but Sam figured he might as well take a look at the thing for himself anyway. Once there, Sam quietly knelt down beside the line. He didn't dare touch it. He wasn't stupid enough to try. Frowning, Sam lifted his gaze and turned his attention out toward the path the line ran along. In doing so, Sam spotted a girl moving some distance away from him. Carefully, Sam stood and began making his way toward her. "Uh, hey. Can I bother you for a second? I mean - have you been here long?" Maybe not the most formal way to approach a stranger, but Sam was currently in all business mode.

Lily glanced up to the guy who was approaching her, and she shook her head. So, not Moore, but there had to be like, a hundred people here or something. So no surprise that the first one she met ... well, wasn't someone she knew.

"Just a few days," she shrugged. "But my grandmother's here and she's been here for months, and she told me a lot of things," Lily continued. "So I could probably help you out."

She closed the rest of the distance between them, peering up at him before she extended one hand. "Lily Potter," she introduced herself, refraining the urge to tack on 'my dad saved the world'. She couldn't well do that at home because everyone knew that, but here? How many people knew that here?

Still, she didn't think her father would appreciate her bragging and talking him up like that. So she refrained. It was remarkably mature of her to do so.

Lots of things. That was certainly better than shooting in the dark here. "I'm Sam. Sam Winchester." Sam reached out and carefully shook Lily's hand. He flashed Lily a small smile, then gestured out toward the line with the same hand that he used to shake hers with. "I've been wondering about this line. I know that it's supposed to be dangerous and I know that we're not supposed to cross it, but I'm curious as to how far the limits of this thing have actually been tested. I was told that there were traps set up all over the place beyond this thing, right?" Sam peered out at it, mouth twisting into a thoughtful sort of frown. If only they knew where each and every trap had been set. Sam was a hunter all right, but he wasn't that kind of hunter. He didn't have the type of skill or experience required to safely locate and disarm traps.

"I'm set on getting us all out of here," Sam explained, looking back to the girl. "I just don't want to try anything stupid or suicidal in an attempt to get the job done." Sam wanted to look into everything before he tried escaping. The line, it seemed, was the most ideal place to start. Did their captors know how to get around these traps unnoticed? How did they get in and out of here? If they could figure that out, then they'd be all set for an escape, wouldn't they?

"Nice to meet you," she replied politely as she peered up to him.

"She said," Lily began, resting on hand on her hip and gesturing slightly at the air with her other hand. "That Chase fell into a vat of acid. That someone who wasn't here anymore got trapped in quicksand. And someone who actually made it past successfully is presumed dead because Tyler saw a video with the girl's head chopped off in a jar of like, preservation fluid. Like the Mug-- chemists? Use. Biologists? Whatever," she waved one hand dismissively.

"She also said if anyone else had crossed, she never heard about it, so she doesn't know what else might be out there. She never tried, because she believed what they said about it."

Lily cocked her head curiously, brows lifting when he mentioned getting them out of here. "How do you plan to do that?" It wasn't mocking; she was genuinely curious what sort of plans he had in that regard, or if he was still trying to figure it out.

Sam could understand monsters popping up and mauling people. That was business as usual for him. But quicksand? Acid? It almost sounded like one of those fucked up sci-fi movies that he sometimes caught Dean watching. Almost too much like one, in fact. It made Sam wonder if Gabriel was involved. Not that he could have been - last he had checked, Gabriel was very much dead. Yet adding on the heads stuffed in jars? Yeah, it really did sound a lot like something the archangel would have gotten his kicks pulling off. "God, these people are twisted," Sam muttered, pushing a hand through his dark hair in frustration. If they were even people. He had to keep that in mind. There weren't many humans out there that he'd met that would actually abduct people and pull this kinda crap.

It was beginning to seem more and more unlikely that crossing the line was something that they were going to be doing in the near future. If only Sam knew how the people who brought them here got in and out. They had to, right? How else would they keep the environment under control? How else would they even bring people here? "She was smart not to try," Sam said thoughtfully. "I don't think anyone should, given all that's happened to those who have." Folding his long arms over his chest, Sam looked down at Lily. He had to look down at just about everyone. Bordering on six foot five, it was sort of rare for Sam to actually meet someone taller than he was. "I'm not sure yet. I want to get a good grip on the layout on things here before I try anything. Once I get this place figured out, I'll start poking around. See what comes of me testing the limits of what they've got set up here. I don't exactly plan on sticking around this place for too long." Funnily enough, Sam couldn't claim he had other places to be. It was a pain that he couldn't go check up on Dean, but given that his entire life consisted of hunting now...well, Sam was exactly where he was supposed to be. Trapped right in the middle of a case that needed to be solved. That really didn't stop this entire situation from giving him a headache.

"That's the story," Lily agreed. "About them being twisted, I mean. 'cause, it takes a special kind of mentality to ... you know. Unleash cannibals on a group of people trapped in a hotel." She shook her head. She couldn't imagine it. Not really. But her grandmother had looked very ... strange when telling that part of the story. There'd been an odd sort of haunted darkness in her eyes that Lily simply couldn't understand. She'd never had to deal with war, or real fear, or anything like her grandmother and even her father had gone through in their lives.

"You should go find that Spike guy. He was one of the ones that shot like, a supply guy. A stock boy," she corrected herself. "Didn't kill him, but shot him." She'd heard that, and gone back (way back) through the network and actually read it.

She did offer him a sympathetic and perhaps slightly pitying smile when he said he wasn't going to stick around. If her father couldn't get them home, no one stood a chance at it. But then, Lily Luna Potter was very much a daddy's girl and even at her age still believed her father to be completely infallible.
