RP: A Very Magical Meeting
Characters: Lily, Magius, Tyler, Balthazar, Remus, Reid, Severus // Lily, Merrick
Time/Date: Evening, August 24
Location: Kitchen
Warnings/Rating: Magic!
Summary: The magicians compare notes
Status: Wrapped up
After dinner, Lily had scrounged up enough ingredients to make biscuits from scratch - including some chocolate chips. She thought they'd come out nicely, and it would give everyone something to snack on. She really had no idea how long the meeting was going to go on, but she imagined if they really got into exploring each other's magic, it could last quite a bit.
She was eager for demonstrations of each sort, though she wouldn't ask Tyler to demonstrate, knowing what his did to him. She was a little curious if Balthazar would let him borrow his ring, though she doubted their sorts of magic were at all compatible. She was curious, too, if Magius could teach them anything, but either way ... she was interested in hearing about it.
Lily glanced over with a smile as Tyler came in. "Hello, love," she greeted him.
"I kind of feel like a kid," he offered as he sat down at the table.
"Well, you are a kid," she teased lightly. "But ... I know what you mean." The other magic users who were going to show up were all ... older than her. And males. "At least you aren't the girl kid," she pointed out to him.
Tyler laughed softly. "I guess you've got me there," he said. He lapsed into a thoughtful silence. "Kind of ironic, right? That the people leading this thing are ... not even twenty."
"Jaime's twenty," Lily countered.
"She looks twelve," he replied with a little grin. It was one of their favorite things to tease Jaime about - how very, very young she did look. "But the point's still there. Why aren't the older people leading things here?"
"Because we are. We stepped up. We stand aside when ... they know better, but ... we've got a system. Why mess with it?" She studied him quietly for a moment. She knew how he felt about Susan. Knew he'd been the one to move her. She doubted he was over that, but she hoped he was at least coming to terms with it. "Just because we're young doesn't mean we don't have experiences to draw from."
"I guess," he admitted before he pushed up to his feet. He got one of the big popcorn bowls and filled it with ice before shoving a few cans of soda in there, along with a couple of beers. He didn't know if any of them drank, but at least then they'd have the option. He set it on the table before he flopped back down into his chair to wait for the others to show up.
