Warnings/Rating: Half-naked Tyler? Narrative swears
Summary: Tyler enjoys the warm and the pool while thinking
Status: Closed

He'd talked to Jaime who'd talked to Lily, and he'd been informed of the presence of Lily's fiance's wand in her room. He'd seen the network post, and while he hadn't seen evidence of anything showing up Tuesday or yet today, he supposed people could just be keeping it to themselves. He wondered what was showing up where, and moreover, why.

It did seem like there was a new kink and twist every week. Nightmares, smells, blizzards, and now ... apparently relevant items appearing at random in some rooms.

Tyler sighed as he stretched out on the diving board, one arm over his eyes. He was still somewhat leery of random weather changes, but they hadn't seemed to have changed it since it "reset" after the blizzard. The moon was random as fuck, according to Lily who had been watching it, but the weather had been comfortable verging on warm.

He really did wonder what things were going to be like if they didn't get out soon. Were they seriously supposed to live their lives on this ... island? In this prison? Was there going to be a way out?

Sighing softly, he relaxed against the board and let the sun (or whatever it was) beat down on him. Once he got hot enough, he'd cool off in the pool and repeat the process.

Kara had stayed in bed most of the morning, still trying to recover from her escapades over the line. She had pushed her body harder than Dr. Guider would have ever allowed in her desperation to save her parents.

The fact that it wasn't her real parents, just a stupid hologram, made her feel like an absolute idiot.

She tested getting out of bed, and felt a slight stabbing pain, rather than the 'oh my god oh my god, cut my legs off now,' pain, so she took that as a good sign.

Not in the mood to be at the mercy of the stabbing pain all day, she chose to go swimming, or more to the point, float around in the pool. Something that would be easy on her legs.

She got dressed in her purple cheetah print suit, and took the elevator up stairs, all the while moving at about regular human speed or slower.

When she got to the pool, she actually didn't notice Tyler at first. She was more focused on getting in the water and letting the coolness wash over her throbbing legs, so, unlike her usual manner for getting in the pool, she took the steps in the shallow end into the pool, deciding to sit on the second step.

Tyler heard someone come out, and he wasn't exactly expecting a hello - some people weren't horribly social, after all. But he was curious who had joined him, so when he heard someone getting into the water, he lifted his head to peer down toward the other end of the pool. Squinting a little against the sun, he recognized the familiar form, and grinned a little. "Hey, kiddo. How're you doing?" he called over to her before he let his head rest back against the board again.

He did manage to push most of his thoughts aside to deal with them later, but he wasn't exactly feeling motivated enough to sit up just yet. Or remove his arm from his eyes. He could talk just fine with his arm where it was. "Haven't seen you in a few days," he continued as he shifted a little to make himself more comfortable on the board.

'Kiddo?' Is that what he thought of her? Just a kid? It would make sense. She was still a kid, after all. She didn't bother giving a smile since he wasn't actually looking at her. She just made sure to keep her voice up beat when she talked.

"Not bad," she lied, "Just thought I'd take a dip in the pool." She rubbed on her legs a little. They hurt, but she would be able to fake being ok, as long as he didn't ask why she was slower than usual. She wasn't too worried about that happening though. Sure she had spent a lot of time around him, but she wasn't sure if he had really gotten enough of a read off her to know she was slower.

"What about you?" She asked, kind of curious as to him being out and about without the two girls he was usually with. She wasn't sure if she was jealous of them yet, since neither of them really seemed to be involved with him.

"Figured I'd enjoy the sun while we had it," he said. "Since you never know when they're going to dump ten feet of snow on us, right?" He grinned a little, but it was true enough and he did pay attention to the weather. If he thought it was getting too cool, he'd be sure to scoot inside.

He shrugged a little against the board, feeling the rough surface rub at the skin of his shoulderblades. "I'm all right. All right as anyone can be, kidnapped and trapped in some luxury hotel." He supposed it could be worse; they could be kidnapped and trapped in some dungeon.

Though he supposed that defeated the purpose of observation. "Got any plans for today after your swim?" He inquired. His plans mostly involved flopping in the lobby and playing games or watching movies.

"Definitely," she agreed to the comment on the weather. "It would really suck to get stuck out here in a swimsuit again. Last time was bad enough."

She took a few steps into the pool and then began swimming lazily. It was more to just relax that she was out there than anything else. She gave a small laugh at his comment, but it was somewhat half-hearted.

"Not really," she replied, though that was a lie too. She was probably going to eat then find a nice place in her room to rest her legs and watch tv.

She would never admit it to anyone else, but she was so much pain, she didn't really even feel like standing. That was of course why she chose to swim. She could let her arms do most of the work in the pool.

"Maybe get some ice cream and laze around," she decided that was the best way to phrase her plans.

Tyler nodded, even if it wasn't likely she could see it. But maybe she was looking; what did he know? Exhaling, he sat up before rolling forward off the board into the water.

He surfaced and pushed his wet hair back out of his eyes, enjoying the contrast of the cool water from the heat of the board.

"Seems like that's about all there really is to do," he admitted. "Laze around and eat." And smell things, or have weird dreams, or cope with odd weather, but that was really kind of ... minor, in the grand scheme of things. It made him wonder if they were warming up to something bigger. Making everyone complacent before ... setting the hotel on fire or something.
