Regina returned Amos’ smile as he took his seat across from her. “I’m good for now, but thank you, dear,” she replied gesturing to the cup of coffee in her hand. It wasn’t Granny’s finest. No one brewed a pot of coffee quite like the wolf did. Not even her. But this would at least do. And besides it wasn’t like she could poof herself to Granny’s and get herself a cup.
When Amos mentioned having to adjust to being on his own again Regina nodded. She understood completely how that felt. It was quite an adjustment to go from doing things to benefit others and then just doing things for yourself. From the time the curse had broken until their journey to Neverland, Regina, had struggled doing things just for herself. Henry was with the Charming’s which meant one less plate setting. Recipe’s were cut in half. Leftovers occasionally went bad though she tried to prevent this from happening. Thankfully she’d never had to fully adjust to being alone as things had started to return to normal. Well, as normal as life could be in a town of fairytale characters who were forced to deal with crisis after crisis.
With a sigh, Regina leaned back in her chair and decided to just jump right into the reason they had decided to meet. The longer she put off starting, the more likely she was to lose her nerve and tell him a completely different story. Sharing certain pieces of her past wasn’t something that came easy. “Amos, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve tended to end these stories when there is clearly more to tell. And I wish I could say that my reason for doing so was because I was protecting the more private details of their lives. But I can’t. I’ve held back telling you everything because I’m selfish and only thought of protecting myself. Which is why I need to tell you my story. But before I get to that I wanted to know how well you know the story of Snow White?”
