Where: The base of the mountains.

The birds were what first woke her up. At first, their song was pleasant, sweet and soothing, but as soon as she remembered where it was she had fallen asleep, Diana bolted up in alarm. Gone was blue room, the comfortable bed and the book she'd been reading. Instead, the sun was blinding, and her limbs were already stiff from the hard surface she lay upon. Somehow she'd been spat out of the strange experimental institute in which she'd been held captive and thrown somewhere else. Somewhere wild and untamed, somewhere like -
Home. She swallowed the word the moment she thought it and got to her feet. As similar as the scenery might be, she knew it wasn't Themyscira, and there was little reason to dwell on the memory of the place she'd been banished from. Themyscira was not a place she would ever be able to return to.
After taking a few minutes to tie her blue fabric around her body like a makeshift toga, Diana started to explore her immediate surroundings. She could see the beginnings of what grew into a much denser forest from her position on the side of the mountain, but she didn't venture towards it. Knowing how impossible the midday sun might be without shade, her first priority was finding some sort of cave or alcove in which to shelter.
On her way east, she saw a smear of blue on the rocks ahead. At first she thought it might be a well, or spring and quickened her pace to get to it. But, after a few more yards, she realised that it wasn't water ahead, but another person laying on the rocks. They had, draped over them like a blanket, the same blue fabric that she was now wearing. The colour, Diana could only assume, signified that this person was from the same block that she was, and as she drew closer still she recognised him. It was Steve Rogers, the person who had seemed so taken aback when she'd first talked to him about her heritage. He hadn't been surprised, disbelieving or rude about any of it. He'd believed her and wanted to know more. If anything, it was she that had been surprised. She was so used to keeping her uniqueness to herself out of a fear of what man might do if they thought they could harness her potential, that she'd forgotten that there were still people in the world who accepted what they knew to be impossible.
Steve?" Diana bent down on the rocks and leaned over, placing a hand on his arm to shake him gently. As she touched him, She thought about the plane that had crashed into the lagoon near her Island over a hundred years ago, and the very different Steve who had nearly drown in the crystal waters. She missed that man, even to this day. But it was a very particular feeling of loss. She missed him the same way she missed Themyscira, or how one might miss their old childhood home. It was a dull ache, rising to the centre of her chest whenever she thought about the past. Steve Trevor had been a good man. One of only a few that she'd ever met in all of her time alive. "Steve? Are you all right? You have to wake up."
