Teddy really did love winter. Naturally he preferred spring and the warmer weather but there was absolutely nothing wrong with snow. Indeed, the first coming of frost and ice only served to remind him of just how close the Christmas holidays were. It seemed as though many of the castle's inhabitants were thinking along a similar train of though, seeing as a sense of child-like excitement and the eagerness to be outside had been buzzing around the entire school since early that morning. It made sitting in class extremely difficult and the Hufflepuff was certain that he wasn't the only one who was feeling antsy. In having to wait to go out and play, the day seemed to drag extremely slowly and he could barely pay attention in class. Especially seeing as his final two periods on Friday afternoon were History of Magic. That meant that he spent two solid hours peering out of the window, wishing that he was already out there instead of being cooped up with Professor Binns and yet another lecture on Goblin rebellions. Somehow he (and the rest of the students) managed to get through it though and, as the day came to a close, he found himself instantly heading towards the front doors.

If there was one person whom Teddy knew who absolutely adored the snow, it was Hyperion. In sharing a dorm with the other boy for so many years and being one of his best friends, Teddy was absolutely positive that Hyperion would be outside. It was simply a question of finding him. Luckily for Teddy, it didn't take too long. After all, how could one miss the excitable figure bounding around sporting the Hufflepuff scarf? Chuckling as he approached, Teddy opted to watch his friend for a minute or two before getting close enough to speak with him. "You look like you're having fun," he said with a grin, rubbing his gloved hands together before pulling his cloak a little tighter around himself. Fun was rather an understatement, considering the happiness practically radiating from the other boy.

Hyperion may have skipped out early on History of Magic. It was a horrible example for a prefect to set, he realised but he also realised that everything Binns was droning on about today? He already knew well enough that he could practically give a lecture on it himself, maybe even a better lecture than Binns could. His strange habit of reading history books without prompting and outside of the class worked in his favour today. He felt only the slightest twinge of guilt, but that passed when he considered how many students would be sleeping through the entire class: at least he stayed awake for the part he had attended.

The snow just had too strong of a pull on him. Most of the year he couldn’t determine what his favourite season was: maybe spring, everything was so lively or perhaps fall, the slight chill in the air and the changing leaves. However, at least for the first snowfall of the year, winter was declared his favourite without reservation. Not to mention, he got to pull out even more of his extensive collection of winter clothing to wear. Aaron’s present this year had been spot-on, since Hyperion was of the mind that a person could never own enough scarves. Therefore, it was no surprise that he struggled to decide which scarf he would wear out onto the grounds (in the end Hufflepuff won out, naturally).

His main activity for the past half hour or so had just been to dash around in the snow. Sure, it wasn’t particularly creative or constructive, but it kept him entertained and put a smile on his face. Hearing Teddy’s voice, he first craned his head to get a look at him, then turned to face him, grin full of child-like glee on his face. “Teddy! You made it!” In response to Teddy’s statement, he gestured to the landscape. “I am having fun! Look at all this; how could a person not have fun with all the snow?”

Pulling his own scarf around his neck a little tighter, Teddy watched with a smile as his friend beamed at him brightly. He couldn't remember the last time he'd seen Hyperion look so utterly ecstatic, his grin simply infectious as Teddy watched him. "Of course I made it," he replied happily, setting his bag down and allowing his eyes to survey the grounds as Hyperion gestured to it. It really was breathtakingly beautiful, even if it was bitterly cold. He wasn't exactly dressed for the occasion, still in his school uniform, but he hadn't wanted to delay his outing. He had made sure to pack his scarf and gloves that morning, and that was what mattered.

"I wouldn't have missed it," he continued, giving Hyperion an impish look as he set his bag down. Letting his eyes sweep over the immediate area, he set his hands on his hips and bit his lip. "Nobody could deny how much fun it is," he said, looking at his friend before shrugging. "So, what's first on the building list? I imagine two wands are better than one."
