Who: Flow and Avery.
What: Revenge. Nobody calls an angry Flow hippy and gets away with it.
When: Tuesday lunchtime, around one.
Where: On the way to the Charms classroom.
Rating: SFW, language aside.
Status: Incomplete.

For someone normally so brash and loud, particularly in Doc Martens, Flow could move surprisingly stealthily when she wanted to. She'd been tailing Avery since he left the Great Hall, wand close at hand, trying to act as normal as possible when anyone looked her way, and staying well out of sight when he looked around. She was just starting to think that this was all for nothing, she wasn't going to get a chance at him, when they finally reached an empty stretch of corridor and she made her move, stepping out from behind a statue with her wand drawn.

"Hey, snakeboy!" she called to him, and took a step closer. "Petrificus totalis!"

By this point, Flow had made herself a little ball out of scrunched-up parchment and was messing around with it, tossing it up in the air and catching it, only one eye still on Avery. He couldn't get out without going past her, after all. Sure, if he had any sense he'd pretend to go on being Petrified - it's what she'd do in his situation - but he couldn't pretend forever. She'd won the minute she got his wand off him.

After about twenty minutes, she turned her head to look at him straight-on again, still tossing the ball of parchment from hand to hand. "Here's the thing, Avery. If you'd said that shit to me any other time, I'd have let you go after I Petrified you. Embarrass you a bit, get a bit of satisfaction out of screwing you over. But here's the thing - being a bigot on the journal entry where I was saying how bigots stabbed my best friend and tried to rape his wife? That was a bad move. That pissed me off. So you can lie there all you want and pretend to be Petrified, in which case I'll eventually get bored and introduce you to Doctor Marten while you're at a disadvantage, or you can stand up and fight me like you've actually got some balls. I know you're not still completely Petrified, Avery, my charms don't last that long."

He continued to wait on the ground. He was not doing it out of cowardice, like Flow probably incorrectly assumed. It would be foolish to get up and face her. Jasper knew he didn't have nearly as much street fighting experience as Flow, who probably did it for fun and to loot people. He needed a tactical advantage. And, if he could avoid it, he needed her to make the first hit. He was the victim and there was no way he was letting himself get fingered for the blame. He figured Flow was getting used to being arrested anyways.

He didn't know who or what a 'Doctor Marten' was. He figured it wouldn't be good. He was preparing for what woud happen if she came over to kick him. So he continued to wait. He had nowhere to be until 3, at which time he hoped she was expelled and he was back to form.

Flow waited another five minutes, then sighed dramatically and rolled her eyes. "Fine. If you wanna play it that way, snakeboy..."

Pulling away from the door, she tossed the parchment ball at his head, then stalked over to him, leaning down to grab him by the collar and haul him up into a sitting position. "Okay, you got me. I'm not hitting you while you're down, that's just straight-up low. Like I say, sooner or later you're going to have to get up, unless you wanna sit there and piss yourself. But now, see, I'm facing a moral dilemma. Does it count as hitting a guy when he's down if he's only down because he's too scared of getting beat up by a Mudblood girl to stand up?"

The moment she had stopped her morally patronizing spiel, he swung his fist around and made contact with her ear. While she staggered backwards he stood up.

He brushed his robes off, and looked at her and said, "If you're ready to be done with this, so am I. I won't say anything if you just redirect me to my wand, and we can both go on with our day. Sound good?"
He hoped she would take his offer. It didn't look like she was going to.

Flow just laughed, shaking her head to clear it. "Nice going, fuckwit. Punch like that, you might almost fight off a six-year-old." Which was completely unfair, because he'd hit her harder than she cared to admit, and with her earrings in, it had actually hurt. "I'm ready to be done with it when you apologise for the things you said, and not before."

Halfway through the sentence, she dived forwards, striking out for his solar plexus with her fists and bringing her knee up sharply as she got closer. Fighting fair only went so far. And Merlin, it was a relief to be done with the talking bit.

Fuck, that hurt.

After he caught his breath he backed off considerably. He wasn't good at physical fighting, but he was a very big contender at psychological warfare. He focused on her mind....trying to get in...

Then, he spat the following, "I won't apologize for your jealousy or for my opinion, but I will apologize for the way I conducted myself. I'm sorry that I chose to write on your journal that you were a trashy mudblood instead of the walls of the fucking castle. You don't deserve to be here, so why don't you do us all a favor and pack up your things and go back to your rat den so your filth will cease to stink up the place!"

The name of the game was evasiveness now. Avoid her blows so he could keep up the mental assault.

Flow snorted, advancing on him, and feinted to the left, then to the right, then punched out hard at his nose, hoping to break it. "I've been called worse in my time, snakeboy. And, for the record, there's no rats in our flat." Again, her fist flashed out, this time at his lower stomach, her foot coming around to catch him in the hip, just in case he blocked her punch. Her lips drew back from her teeth, her eyes flashing angrily. "As for being a mudblood... how about we see how fucking clean your blood is when it's spread all over my fists, huh?"

This was not going well.

His fury strengthened him. He blew blood on the ground from his nose and wiped it on his sleeve.

"You know, I have connections. So even though your own whore of a mother left you to hang, I'll still be able to hunt down your family. They might have brutal barbaric strength, but let's see them face the killing curse. I'm sure though that you'll want to join them, and I doubt anyone here would care. So continue to beat me. I don't know how you get satisfaction from imbalanced fights, but when you get expelled and attacked I'll be sure to have the Dark Lord give you my parting regards."

After he was done, he was sure he had said too much. But of course, there was no physical proof of anything, unlike his own bloody body. He let her continue to hit him. It was all he needed.

Flow snarled, grabbing him by the throat and shoving him hard against the wall. "Don't you ever..." slamming him back again, hard, "...ever..." And again; "...EVER threaten my family, you cowardly shitstain!"

She'd intended to slap him around a bit, just enough to embarrass him, make him think about what he'd done. Actually, she'd been on the edge of just kicking him in the groin again to stop him following her, and leaving him alone. But he'd just threatened Dad and Jammy. Not only that, but he'd pretty much straight-out admitted to being in with the bastards responsible for the summer deaths. And he'd threatened her family!

"You ever set foot in my town, Avery," she hissed, pulling her face right up to his, "you or any of your Death Eater buddies, and I swear to Merlin or God or any other fucker listening, the last thing you're ever going to think is fuck, I wish I hadn't messed with Flow Morrison. We clear?" Still holding him by the throat, she jabbed her free fist hard into his gut, then threw him aside, eyes blazing as she turned to face him again, fists up. "Apologise," she said, coldly. "Apologise for calling me a Mudblood. Apologise for calling me a hippy. You don't have to apologise for saying I crawled out of the abyss, 's probably true, but you are damn well going to apologise for threatening my family! Maybe if you do, I'll let you go without breaking your arms, your legs, and your wand first."

He had struck the nerve he wanted to hit, now it was time to get out of there. In his best apologetic, pleading voice, he cried,

"Fine! I apologize! I'm so sorry for everything, please, just STOP!"

Then he let himself fall to the floor, held his gut, and waited for her to reply. He needed to get out soon, and if his wand didn't make it out alive, then neither would he.

Flow gave him a good, hard kick in the ribs, rather hoping to break a couple of them in the process, then put her foot down on his groin, hard enough to hurt but not hard enough to really hurt. "Say your blood's no better than mine, Avery. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference if my family's Muggle or wizarding or mixed-up both, I'm still better at magic than you, better hand-to-hand than you, and just downright better than you. Go on, admit it."

He was furious. He had met her demands and yet he was still being beaten.

"So good at magic you are, that you had to hex me while my back was turned, take both our wands away and beat me up like this. If you're challenging me to a fucking duel, then you can test that theory out, but don't you dare think you, a fucking mudblood, are better than magic than me without testing it."

He was so done with this situation. He ached all over. He still could make potions AND report the incident if he could get out in time.

Before she could aim another blow at him, who was now laying on the floor, he looked up at her and said, "I'm sorry for everything, but this honestly is not the way to get it out of me. If you want me to respect you, you can't beat it out of me. You earn your respect where I'm from. You'd stand to gain some if you let me go."

She pushed down her heel, just a little, into his groin. "And where I come from, we don't care too much about respect when it comes from someone who hasn't earned any themselves. I could duel you to a standstill, Avery, and when Duelling Club starts up properly again, I'll be happy to prove that to you. Right now, I'm proving a point, which is that without the magic, without the wand, without your daddy's money to back you up... you're completely fucking pathetic.

"You're right, though. This isn't the way to get it out of you. 'Cause it means nothing, just like your apologies mean nothing. I dunno if there is a way to get it out of you, or if you're too pigheaded to admit the truth that's staring you in the face, and I don't much care. You're just a dick, Avery, and that's all you're ever gonna be; a dick with money and no fucking principles worth fighting for. Maybe you think I'm worth less than you 'cause I'm Muggleborn. Whatever, you think what you like. But you keep it to yourself around me, Avery, because if you ever call me Mudblood again, and if you ever, ever dare bring my family into it again, today's going to seem like a fucking walk in the park. We clear?"

She stamped down, hard enough to hopefully incapacitate him for a few minutes, then stepped back, shaking her head. "Wish I thought a single fucking word I said went into that inbred brain of yours. But whatever. Your wand's behind the statue down the corridor, when you're ready to come and get it."

He watched her storm out of the classroom, got to his feet, and folded over. For a moment, he just remained like that, catching his breath and making a plan. This was not the end of it.

The first thing he did was make his way to his wand. If anything mattered, it was the well-being of his wand. He didn't completely trust Flow to have left it undamaged. He rushed to where she described it to be, and thankfully he found it unharmed. Then he made his way to his common room. He didn't stop for anyone's questions along the grand staircase, he moved immediately towards the dungeons. He got out the polaroid his mother had bought him over the summer, snapped a quick picture of himself, and left it on his table. He then, having missed potions as well, moved to the hospital wing. When he got there, he was not opposed to answering all the questions. He had decided to follow the correct vein of report, telling the prefecture first, then heads of houses. But if he did not see the situation get handled the way he wanted, he would do anything to expose the situation and the school's mudblood sympathizing ways.
