WHO: Hannah and Bonnie
WHEN: October 22, Afternoon; Lunch
WHERE: Outside in the courtyard!
WHAT: BFF time. Hannah talking about her idea. Etc.
RATING: SFW.

The morning's classes couldn't have taken longer if someone had used a time turner to rewind and repeat. Hannah was practically nodding off by the time her last rolled around, and the only thing keeping her going was the rumbling of her stomach. She had plans to grab her lunch and eat outside with Bonnie, which was her one and only beacon of sanity amongst the boredom she was suffering. Admittedly, she wasn't usually so distracted. Today was different because Hannah was waiting to hear back about whether her idea was approved or not. She was confident in Lily's assessment of the plan, but ultimately their headmaster had to sign off on it. There were probably a lot of people around the castle who might protest such an idea, but Hannah figured they'd change their minds when the idea of competition and charity were thrown in. And for those who weren't so noble of heart, there was always the option of an afternoon free of classes.

Even without the final go-ahead, Hannah's mind was racing with plans and ideas. She found herself scribbling a few notes during the last few minutes of her class before lunch, and the bell served to startle her as she realized she was free. Jumping up, she collected her things and immediately headed off to meet Bonnie. After grabbing some food and dumping her morning books off, Hannah headed out to the courtyard where she was to meet her friend; hoping she wasn't running behind because of her pit stop.

Like Hannah, the day had gone particularly slow for Bonnie. Usually, the thought of going to class was an exciting prospect (not that she told anyone that, though), but today she had just felt extremely unproductive, and she hated feeling that way. It was rather strange, actually, because usually she was going at a speed of one hundred miles per hour. However, like most of her fellow students, this week had been a rather terrible one. It was almost as if there was a big black rain cloud following everyone around, and Bonnie was definitely not okay with that. She had actually spend the majority of classes thinking of exciting prospects that could cheer her fellow housemates up, as well as the fact that she and Isabelle still hadn't gotten down to the planning of Isaac's welcome back party. Isaac. Bonnie didn't really have a lot of friends, she was more like a drifter- drifting from one group to the next, but she did consider Isaac a friend. The idea that she could have lost him was absolutely terrifying, especially when her father's presence in her life was still missing.

She had arrived a little early because she hadn't had an afternoon class. And, of course, it would be her luck that meant she was kept waiting. Not that she blamed Hannah, though. She understood that Hannah didn't have the same luxury of having an afternoon off. She had grabbed her food and headed out on the courtyard, rather pleased that it wasn't raining. She refused to eat until her friend got here however, so she started reading her latest novel. She had become rather attached to, actually, and while she only had a few chapters left the prospect of finishing it was rather disappointing. Merlin, she really was a Ravenclaw. Luckily, however, her friend didn't take long to join her. She noticed Hannah's eyes dashing around the courtyard so she waved her friend over with a smile tugging at her lips. It didn't take long for her friend to notice her and almost immediately she made her way over. Once Hannah reached her, Bonnie held out her wrist and looked at her imaginary watch. "My, my! You know how to keep a friend waiting," she said, all in jest, of course. One of her many talents included teasing, which, when she thought about it, made her seem like a terrible person.

It wasn't too terribly difficult to spot Bonnie once she was outside. There weren't a lot of students eating in the courtyard despite it being a fairly nice day. Hannah noticed the glint of sunlight off her friend's red hair before she saw the other girl waving to catch her attention. Smiling, she waved her own arm back as she changed direction and headed straight for the little bench. It was a bit difficult to balance her things as she made her way across quickly, but luckily no obstacles arose to throw Hannah's steps off.

Reaching her best friend, she grinned, but didn't have time to speak before Bonnie did. "Oh my! So it seems I do. How do you ever put up with me and my insufferable tardiness?" she teased back, taking a seat without hesitation. Hannah was accustomed to her friend's teasing, as it was a trait they both shared. It was a good practice not to take things, including oneself, too seriously. Setting her tray and bag down, she focused on Bonnie with a cheerful smile as she noticed the redhead's untouched tray of food. "Aw! Did you wait for me to get here before eating, Bee?!"

When her best friend responded, Bonnie chuckled slightly before responding. She let her shoulders form an exaggerated shrug before she shook her head fiercely. "I ask myself that every single day," she grinned back at her friend, sighing slightly as she played along. Bonnie closed her book, marking her page with her bookmark before she stowed it safely away in her bag. She noticed the blonde's eyes find her tray of food and she followed them, suddenly feeling very hungry. She picked it up and set it on her lap before replying. "Of course I did! Now, you don't see many friends doing that, now do you?" she grinned cheekily. "Lucky you're here now, I don't know how much longer I would have waited," she added quickly, eying her food before she dug a fork into the meal that sat on her lap.

After taking a few bites she turned to face her friend, eying her suspiciously. "What have you been up to? You seem rather cheery today," she asked before realising that Hannah always tended to be cheery. "Well, cheerier than usual," she finished with a grin. She was rather excited to be spending lunch with her Hannah. As much as she loved Isabelle, sometimes she felt a little too, well, loud for her fellow Ravenclaw. But with Hannah, that never seemed to be a problem. Not to mention that one of Hannah's favorite topics included boys, and while Bonnie fiercely denied that she was a girlie girl, the occasional girl talk did her a world of good.

"You have it so hard. I am a terrible friend. Why do you hang out with me?" Hannah tried for the dramatic act, huffing and slumping her shoulders for effect, but it didn't last but two seconds before those baby blues were twinkling with amusement. Dropping the act, she laughed at her antics as she took a seat and balanced her tray carefully upon her lap. She was touched that Bonnie had waited for her to start eating, though of course it didn't really surprise her at all. Her best friend was always doing things like that; always thinking of others. "You are a goddess among mere mortals. The finest friend and I am not worthy," she replied, making a little bow with her hands before she giggled again. "I'm not sure how long I could have waited either to tell the truth. My stomach growling was the only thing keeping me awake through my last lesson!"

As she began to eat, she didn't realize her body was literally bouncing even though she was sitting still. Hannah was just so hyped up about the potential date auction that she couldn't contain herself. Looking up, Bonnie's question brought a bright grin to her face; though she made sure to swallow before answering. "Well, not that I need a reason to be cheerful..." she started, her tone leaving it wide open for a 'but' to be discerned. "But I had a brilliant idea the other day when I noticed how down everyone's been. I wanted to bring everyone's spirits up a bit," she went on, clearly getting more excited as she worked to the big finish.

"So I thought, what better way to cheer people up than a date auction!" Bouncing a little, Hannah was positively beaming by this point. "I ran the idea by Lily and she thought it was brilliant. It'll promote inter-House mingling, as there will be a competition between Houses to see who gets the most bids. The proceeds will go to a charity and everything. She's going to run it by Dumbledore today but seems to think he'll agree!" she added, her words mingling a bit as she got more and more excited. "I really hope he says yes. It will be so much fun! And Lily seems to think Professor Pudifoot will help as it's her cup of tea. She might even cancel afternoon classes!"

Bonnie contiuned the show by placing a hand on her chest before throwing it around. "I have no clue, love! And I'm a Ravenclaw, I'm supposed to have all the answers! But, you don't know the pain I feel. It's so tiresome," she exclaimed before a fit of giggles escaped her lips. When Hannah mentioned she was a goddess she gasped exaggeratedly before she flicked her hair back with her hand. "Well, what can I say? I do try," she responded in a fake posh accent. Again, it didn't take her long to laugh. "Whatever the case, I know you would have waited," she noted before continuing. "I mean, you couldn't do that to me, now could you?" she asked, still a hint of silliness in her voice.

When Hannah finally answered her, she had a mouth full of food and she had trouble keeping it all in. Her display was utterly amusing. Sure, she was used to Hannah's bounciness, but Merlin, the girl was excited. She finally got the food down, and contiuned to look at the girl with a hint of amusement on her face. She opened her mouth to reply, but before she knew it Hannah had started talking again.

Once Hannah had finished explaining everything, a huge grin danced across her lips. After all, from what her best friend was telling her, the auction sounded like a pretty amazing idea. Hell, she'd even help out if Hannah needed it. Bonnie nodded her head excitedly, impressed by her friend's plan. Sure, there would be no way in the world she would be offering herself up for auction, but she thought there would be plenty others who would, anyway. "Wow, love! I'm impressed. It all sounds absolutely brilliant," she responded, her amused grin planted firmly in its place. "You know I'll help with anything you need. As long as I'm not put up for auction, I'll do anything to make things easier. And, I'm sure Dumbledore will agree. I mean, if Lily thinks it's a good idea, why would he object? Besides, he's all about that house unity bollocks," she finished, rolling her eyes. Bonnie wasn't unnecessarily cruel, but after her father's disappearance, she had found a distaste towards the Slytherins. Sure, she knew that no students would have been involved, but that doesn't mean their families weren't.

Their antics were definitely making Hannah laugh, as usual. This was exactly what she had needed after a slow morning of classes that felt as if they were sucking away her soul. Bonnie played along perfectly, and a few looks were cast their way as the two girls giggled and carried on while trying to eat at the same time. "I could never do that to you. I'm already unworthy of your friendship, I don't want to remind you of how much if I can help it." Winking, she couldn't help but shake her head and laugh some more before turning to her food with equal enthusiasm.

Hannah was typically a cheery person, but she wasn't so over the top that it was exhausting. She had her moments where she became animated, however, and as she answered Bonnie's question proved to be one of them. The bouncing was almost subconscious as she launched into the explanation, and Hannah couldn't seem to control herself the longer she spoke. Just thinking about it made her giddy and she was on pins and needles to hear back from Lily about the meeting

"Thanks! I don't know where it came from either. Just popped into my head as I was working on my matchmaking list." It wasn't really a surprise, though. Bonnie knew her penchant for love and relationships, and a date auction went right along with her matchmaking tendencies. "I'll definitely need a lot of help. And you bet you'll be going up for auction. I'll tie you up and drag you if I have to," she said after swallowing a bite of food. Her spoon was pointed at her friend, but Hannah's attempt at threatening just looked adorable. Moving back to her lunch, she ate a little more as Bonnie spoke, the tone in her voice surrounding 'house-unity' a familiar one. "I hope you're right, though I'm sure a lot of students might not like Lily's restriction of only bidding outside your house." Hannah didn't expect Slytherin would get many bids in that case, but one could never be sure.

Bonnie gasped exaggeratedly as a hand flew up animatedly in the air. "Unworthy? Hannah Robinson, you are definitely not unworthy. Maybe a little tiresome at times," she paused and winked at her best friend before continuing. "And, sometimes it's terribly hard to put up with your ridiculous antics, but, I think it's safe to say that you're quite worthy," she finished, a hint of amusement in her voice. Of course, she was joking about everything she had said. It was rather perfect, actually. Hannah being her best friend, that is. They got each other, and their antics always proved to be amusing. The people around them seemed to think so, anyway. Or maybe they thought they were strange, however, whatever they thought didn't matter, because Hannah put up with her animated and lively manner. And, Hannah was one of the few people that pulled her out of her slump after her father disappeared.

Bonnie nodded along, and grinned at the mention of Hannah's matchmaking list. It was something about Hannah that she loved. No matter how much bullshit went on in the world, her best mate still believed in love. It was rather inspiring, actually. She put a another serving off food into her mouth before she shot Hannah a look. The idea of being up for auction was terribly irksome, especially if some snot nosed third year won her. Swallowing her food down quickly, she shook her head fiercely. "If you put me up for auction, I'll make sure you're in no state to even plan it," she warned playfully. Sure, she didn't really want to be put up for auction, but she'd go along with it if she had to. At the mention of the Lily's restriction, she shrugged. "They probably won't," she noted, pursuing her lips. "But hopefully, people will use their brains and realise this is a chance to spend time with people that aren't in their house. I mean, I eat, sleep, and breathe Ravenclaw, and I love my housemates, but that doesn't mean I'm not intrigued at the idea of spending time with people that I don't normally get the chance too. And, I don't think I'd be the only one," she finished.

"That's true. I'm incredibly brilliant, after all," she mused, returning the wink in kind. Hannah couldn't help but laugh as they teased each other, which was just their way. She couldn't think of a better friend than Bonnie. The other girl definitely got her in a way nobody else did, and was often an anchor when Hannah's head got away from her a bit. She needed someone smart and down-to-earth to balance her, but the two always managed to have a lot more fun than some might expect. Bonnie was not the typical Ravenclaw, though she certainly had the brains. It was a nice way to accentuate all the charm they oozed between them.

At the mention of volunteering her best friend against her will, Hannah's blue eyes widened in false innocence. "Would I do something as cruel as auctioning my best mate against her will?!" she gasped, placing a hand on her chest and looking offended at the entire idea. Of course, that was exactly something she would do, and they both knew it. Smirking devilishly, she ate a bit more of her lunch while trying to pretend that innocence was genuine. "You couldn't hurt me anyway. Even if I were, in an unlikely scenario, to do that." She was confident in that statement, too. Bonnie would come to see how brilliant this idea was and she would eventually give in. Hannah was pretty persuasive, after all.

"I'm hoping that's the case too. I know not everyone is for intermingling, but we could definitely use it around here. There's been so much conflict lately," she observed, shaking her head sadly as she took another bite thoughtfully.
