Geoff was tired. Exhausted actually but he was looking forward to the houseboat party. He'd bought brawts, hot dogs and beef for burgers. It'd be a good night. There was a keg on the deck and he figured people would show up with their own booze as well. It was the perfect night for a party. The air was warm with a hint of a breeze and spring had finally made its way to England. His boat was docked outside of London, preferring the country air to the busyness of the Thames. It'd be a good night, of that he was sure. Frowning, he realized he hadn't spoken with Drew all that much. It was different, this role reversal. He wasn't used to it. He was the one who charmed the ladies and he didn't know exactly what was going on with Drew and Mandy but he was pretty sure he didn't like it.
Amanda Brocklehurst... his thoughts drifted, trying to sort out what he'd found out about her in his head. There was something that just didn't seem to connect. She'd become involved because of her dead father but she was trying to protect someone? Her mother, perhaps. It was hard to understand what was going on in that girl's head. Who was she? He shook his head, intent on finding out. Part of him didn't believe she was as innocent as she seemed but he was a little jaded in regards to women. The last woman who'd claimed innocence had been anything but. Of course, Mandy had never once proclaimed her innocence and that's what was throwing him off.
Shaking it off, he turned the grill on, waving to Katie and Alicia. Those two amused the bloody hell out of him. Ali looked good and he let his eyes wander over her. He caught sight of Drew looking around to see if his shadow was with him. He didn't spot her but that didn't matter. She was tiny and could be lost in the tall crowd that seemed to be the Gryffindor crew. George, Cormac and Ken were all there and he waved at his mates. Fuck. He really did love his house.
