THE DECEMBER CHALLENGE |
• There are ten challenges; complete ALL of them within the month of December to earn the participation award. It's completely voluntary, but we thought it would be a fun way to encourage both activity and creativity. • Challenges MUST be scenes. Network conversations will not count. • You're allowed to bulk multiple challenges into one scene. As long as the scene meets the requirement of the challenge, it's allowed. • Challenges do NOT need to be completed for each character. If you, the player, have 5 characters, you can split up the challenges and do two for each character. If you have 2 characters? Do five for each character. However you want to split them up is fine. • Each of the ten challenges count for 100 points. Bonus challenges are worth 10 points each. • In the heading of your scene (who, where, when, etc), please include which challenge(s) the scene includes. CHALLENGE #01: FUCK YOU Write a scene involving a dispute between two or more characters. Or, if you’re feeling particularly silly and creative, have your character arguing with him- or herself! CHALLENGE #02: OH BALLS Write a scene that involves an encounter with one specific type of infected (wakers, leapers, runners, smashers, climbers, swimmers, or shufflers). CHALLENGE #03: STFU Write a scene that involves absolutely NO dialogue. In other words, no one speaks and everything is conveyed through actions. To give some leeway, we will allow things such as “he gave her a look that clearly said omg what do we do?” but try not to use that method excessively. CHALLENGE #04: BOOZE Write a scene where a drunk encounter leads to an awkward situation. It doesn’t matter who’s drunk in the scene, one or both (or all?), but amp up the awkward! CHALLENGE #05: LESS THAN 250 This involves keeping track of word count. No tag in this particular scene can exceed 250 words. CHALLENGE #06: MORE THAN 250 This also involves keeping track of word count. No tag in this particular scene can be less than 250 words. CHALLENGE #07: <3 Write a scene involving something your character loves. A thing, not a person. CHALLENGE #08: SHAKIN’ IN MAH BOOTS Write a scene that centers on one of your character’s fears. This fear cannot be about zombies. CHALLENGE #09: AWW! Write a scene that centers on sharing or reminiscing about a childhood memory. CHALLENGE #10: WTF? Turn your music player on Shuffle. Using the first song that comes up, write a scene that incorporates a line of lyrics from that song. BONUS CHALLENGES To earn bonus points, feature one thing from each of the following categories. For example, one scene can have mention of a big orange phone (30 points), or a small book (20 points), or just a bottle (10 points). Colors: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple Sizes: Big, medium, small Items: Book, plate, bottle, pill, phone At the beginning of January, we'll ask you to submit your progress so that we can tally the points. To simplify things a little for you, you can post this basic list of links in your character's journal and fill in the URLs to the scenes as you complete the challenges. |
