WHO: Luke and George.
WHAT: Luke and George meet without realizing, and... Really don't like eachother.
WHERE: Grand Central.
WHEN: 20th of March, 2019.
STATUS: In progress.
RATING: Medium.
It really was.
Luke knew it, too, and he knew the reasons why. Not that they'd stop him.
First of all, Uncle B didn't want him leaving the Library without telling him. Which made sense or whatever, except how was Luke supposed to explain wanting to surprise George with a gift, the way she'd surprised him once? It would feel totally stupid to ask his uncle to take him all the way just to do that, like he was a little kid or something. No way.
Secondly, he didn't think George was slated to be going anywhere, and he'd probably accidentally see her. But then... Maybe he wanted to accidentally see her, get a feel for who she really was, so that he could be all cool the first time they officially saw eachother. Right? It made sense. Not that it was his intention or anything -- to be honest, he hoped to God that she wouldn't be there.
In fact, he mostly wanted to just tack sticky notes all up and down the staircase where they had planned to meet before. The problem was that he hadn't prepared any of these notes on the way over. It gave him an excuse not to look up while he wandered through Grand Central; he had to fill them up with words, so that one by one the notes spelled out something clever and awesome. Maybe he'd even scramble them up like some kind of actually entertaining puzzle. George would like that, right?
He wanted her to smile. I don't even know what that smile looks like.
This was how he slammed into someone while threading through the various blankets and sleeping bags along the floor. The pad of notes, his pen, the book he'd been using to write on -- all three fell to the floor, and for a brief moment Luke surveyed them, expression darkening. Seriously?
He lifted narrowed eyes at the stranger, who was... Unexpectedly pretty. Maybe his cheeks flushed slightly at that, but Luke had an image to maintain.
"Yeah, excuse you."
Totally not my fault.
