"That's alright. I just saw these when I went out, and thought that you'd really like them," Noah lied, wide smile playing on his lips. He had actually gone out to look for the things he had given her, but he didn't want her to think that he was trying too hard, even though he was putting more effort into impressing her than he did Willow, and that didn't even have anything to do with the fact that he was trying to find presents in the middle of the apocalypse. Noah was actually trying to be considerate, a good (potential) boyfriend, and he was slowly beginning to understand how much he cared for Cassie.
"Well, I'm glad you think so. I think Miles laughed when I showed him what they looked like," he commented, laughing a little. He was seriously nervous as he waited for her to open them up, wanting to know if he had actually gotten something that she liked. She seemed excited just to have the two gifts he had brought, but he wanted her to be happy with what he had gotten her too.
Noah had remembered one of their conversations that had steered somewhere near their siblings and retained one of Cassie's comments that she tended to write notes to her sister in some of the notebooks. She hadn't seen Calli in a long time, and Noah wanted to give her more notebooks just because they seemed to be her connection with her sister, they helped Cassie carry on though she hasn't heard word of Calli in years. Noah couldn't imagine what it was like to not know where any of his family was, and he wanted to do anything to help Cassie. He would have gone out looking for her twin sister if she had any idea where to start looking.
When she finally tore open the paper, he could tell that she liked what he had gotten, and his nervousness melted away, his nervous tick replaced by a strong smile. Then she kissed him on the cheek. He was a little stunned for a second, but she was adorable and he couldn't say he'd been thinking about just that since she had made that comment at the end of their first video chat.
"It's... don't worry about it," he faltered, trying to remember English. "Alright," Noah replied, connecting right with the awkward segue. "A little."
Noah waited for her lead.
"Though it's not overly festive, you can tell it's Christmas," he commented as he looked around the big hall. "You look very pretty, Cassie." Noah sort of wanted to take those words back, because they were so awkward, but there was nothing he could do about them now. He flashed an awkward smile.
