Cassie was sitting back relaxing, browsing the forums on her iPhone. Nothing was particularly interesting she was just being nosey. A voyeur into the interpersonal relationships that had begun since the intranet went up. After scrolling a few pages Cassie dropped the phone into her lap fingers grazing over the screen as she leaned back. Reading the relationships people had was depressing. It made her miss her sister more.
It wasn’t fair. These people knew each other or had people they were searching for. Cassie only checked in the hopes that she might see her sister or brother’s picture on those pages. And every day it was a lesson in more disappointment. Neither was ever on the boards. And she always had to keep herself carefully in check. Think long and hard if she’d really expected anything different. She’d realize she hadn’t and then proceed to mope in her bedroll, which was exactly what she was starting to do then.
In a few hours she’d reluctantly pull herself together. Remind herself that she wasn’t entirely alone. She had those two twins that she’d met when she arrived that kept her company. The girl always brought a smile to her face for a little while. They had a lot of stuff in common that Cassie was pretty sure made up for the fact that Calypso was still nowhere to be found. She often found herself thinking when with Allie that Calypso would probably like her that they’d probably get along. It was a nice thought thinking of the three of them, if Cassie was ever reunited with her sister, hanging out.
She sighed and brushed a few strands of hair back from her face. Cassie’s phone buzzed in her a lap making her frown in confusion. There wasn’t any cell service so how in the hell did that happen and she didn’t typically get email either. Picking up the phone she stared at the face on the screen as she lay there. Well this was unexpected. Who would have thought the intranet was capable of supporting face time?
