A late night visit was probably the last thing Vienna had ever expected from Noah, and part of her was still firmly trying not to read more into it than what it was. After all maybe he came by this late because he just couldn’t continue this charade any longer and wanted to end things. He said he was yours for as long as you’d have him. That voice in the back of her mind reminded her, yet that was hard to believe when all their interactions of late had been awkward and strained.
Vienna was all to aware of the other eyes on them, of Ty standing next to her and Ledger sitting on the couch watching the grown ups like a hawk. Waving off his apology, she gave him a small, almost hesitant smile. “Don’t worry about it, I wasn’t asleep,” she answered simply, realizing that she hadn’t been expecting him so her hair was piled up on her head in a messy bun and her face was devoid of any makeup. “Oh...” Vienna tried to ignore the way her heart dropped. Was this one of those ‘we need to talk’ conversations?
Pulling her lower lip in between her teeth, she couldn’t help chewing on it nervously for a brief moment. He wants to talk, that doesn’t mean he’s ending things.
Turning her attention back on Ty as he addressed Ledger, she couldn’t help but laugh softly when her son replied with. “Soap is gross,” Despite the tension Vienna found herself momentarily distracted by that, though she sobered when Ty offered to take Ledger somewhere else so she and Noah could talk. “Why don’t you boys stay out here and Noah and I will go talk in my room,” A little privacy would be good, she thought. On a whim she stood on her tiptoes and pressed a quick kiss to Ty’s check as she murmured a soft ‘Thank you’ before motioning for Noah to come into the apartment.
“Is talking in my room okay?” Vienna asked quietly; still unsure as to what he was here to talk about.
