"Bummer," Caitie mused. "It'd be fun if he actually had something interesting about him." Maybe someday, they'd figure out who it was, but for now, they seemed to be keeping themselves pretty well hidden, so she supposed it'd have to stay that way for now. "Maybe it's his girlfriend the evil shrew," she joked. "Posting rumors about herself so that she wasn't, like... suspected or something. Except she definitely doesn't seem like the type."
So far, a bunch of people knew about their pets, and no one had tried to eat them yet. "I don't think people would do that, unless things got, like... really bad." No, they didn't like most of the people on the compound, but that didn't mean that they were bad people. For the most part, anyway. "And if they tried, I wouldn't let them, anyway." She'd try not to, at least. "There are some people who have weird pets, and they've never been threatened like that. And vet guy, when he was still around, always kept a ton of weird animals in the vet station, right?" Now, she was trying to convince herself more than Maddie.
Caitie nodded. "Yeah, she's pretty okay. Weird, and stuff, but not mean or whatever, you know?" Sometimes it was amusing to talk to her, because she was weird.
After picking up the water, she pushed herself into a sitting position and pushed the kitten off of her lap, just in case she spit the water out by accident. "You mean like that one night I had to go out and check who was in front of the building and I stepped in the puddle?" she made a face. "Stupid not thick ice," she grumbled.
"And maybe after this we can watch Daria until we fall asleep?" Which had become something of a tradition for them, since she'd found DVD set. She uncapped her water bottle and took a moderate sized chug into her mouth, speaking with full mouth. "Ready?" she muffled out, trying not to laugh.
