No one would ever accuse either woman of doing the smart thing, at least not when it came to each other. “Fuck you, Stone,” was her immediate, almost venomous, response. Micah had worked damn hard to get that job, it was one of the few things in her life that she had been truly proud of. With a slight snarl, “I busted my ass to get that job.” She had earned that job, no matter what Leah Stone, or anyone else for that matter, thought about it.
Besides, like hell was the blonde better suited for it. Micah doubted, before the zombies at least, that Leah had ever been in a fight even, let alone a real, fighting to survive because someone bigger and meaner was literally trying to end your life, fight.
Micah had a few not so nice things to say under her breath about the cackling cow. Shooting her a glare out of the corner of her eye, trying to keep most of her focus on staying upright.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Brown eyes didn’t even flick up, focused on watching her feet for the moment. She was absolutely determined to stay upright this time around. This game was getting ridiculous, she just wanted to prove her point and get off this damn ice already.
Cautious, Micah took a deep breath and resumed her tentative skate across the ice. Perhaps it was how much determination was behind each stroke this time, but she felt more steady then she had before. So much so that she decided to slowly edge closer to Leah, becoming more confidant that she this time she wouldn’t fall with each minute she stayed on her feet. So much so that she shot Leah a small, slightly cocky grin.
Should have known better. Not even a minute later, once she was within about arms length of the blonde, she lost her balance. Flailing her arms, she didn’t go down this time but she did fall into Leah. Her balance might be a little shot, but her reflexes were still fairly quick. Micah managed to catch herself enough that neither of them would fall, but not enough to stop from bumping into the slightly taller woman. Micah just avoided slamming their foreheads together, instead crushing her lips against Leah’s.
Unfortunately, being that she was still slightly intoxicated, and despite her other flaws Leah Stone had quite soft lips, she didn’t immediately pull away. Instead, her brain forgot to point out what a horrible, horrible idea it was and kissed the blonde for real.
