Although he could imagine they might never see eye to eye on this, Zach appreciated the fact that he had the kind of relationship with his sister that could allow them both to see the other person's perspective, acknowledge it and move on. Her stubbornness was nothing new to him, each of the Johnson's seemed to possess a level of stubbornness. It did complicate matters though when Zach was simply trying to keep their family from losing anymore members.
"I trust you," he answered honestly. "But that doesn't mean I like you going out there."
He gave her arm a gentle squeeze as she placed her hand over his. Zach had half expected her to shrug off his hand, to breeze out through the door and not look back. He was relieved she hadn't though. His opinion might not have been what she wanted to hear, but he wouldn't have felt right not expressing it.
Until you're not. The thought flashed into Zach's mind before he could stop it. He tamped down on the urge to say that, and instead smiled and said. "I know you are," his smile was strained and his blue eyes still held worry in them. "Yeah, I'll be in the infirmary, but you better not be coming there 'cause you need to be patched up, okay." That was a worry of his, that one day it would be his job to work on one of his siblings, so far that hadn't happened and he wanted to keep it that way.
Letting his hand fall away from her arm, he chuckled softly at her farewell. "Love you too, pain."
