Snorting a laugh, Evan bit his lip and shook his head. “You wouldn't push me, would you?” he asked placing his hand dramatically over his chest and breathing in sharply. “What did I ever do to warrant such scrutiny?” he asked with a flash of his tongue once more.
“It'll still be glorious, even if it is a little larger.” A safe comment, when there were endless not-so-safe ones that he could've made at that point. But Leah would be beautiful, no matter what she looked like. He could only imagine that she'd be beautiful carrying his child. He chuckled at her idea of victory and nodded his head. “I think I can get behind that. Significantly more fair of a regime.”
Evan pondered carefully, then said, “well, figuring out a woman that would want to hook up with you shouldn't be an issue, since you're the hottest lady in this whole entire compound.” After a dramatic pause, feigning more thought, he finished. “So, I suppose it matters more who you want.” He was beyond pleased that she had gone with the joke, so he wasn't going to complain. “Who's the most flexible lady in this whole place aside from you?” Wasn't something Evan kept up with.
Nodding his agreement, Evan shrugged. “Phasing and flight? An awesome combination. Then you could phase through that low flying aircraft.” He nodded sagely.
Closing his eyes when she leaned against him, he smoothed his hands along her back and smiled. “See, and this is why we're a wonderful pair,” he said quietly, against the top of her head as he squeezed her softly. “We're always looking out for each other, even if it's by looking out for ourselves.”
“Maybe so, but I was a different person then than I am now,” he said.
He smirked when she licked her lips and wagged his eyebrows. She offered him a wish and he chuckled, closing his eyes and trying to think of a good wish. What could he wish for that he didn't already have, that he hadn't already wished for a thousand times? He smirked when he came to the perfect conclusion. I wish for a peaceful year. Less hell than the last one's been, then turned his attention to her again. “Done.”
