WHO: Brandon and Lexi
WHAT: A much-needed talk. Should be interesting, since Brandon's no good at talking.
WHERE: Guard Tower 2.
WHEN: 10/09/19, night.
RATING: Medium for Brandon's mouth.
This was either a great idea or a colossal mistake. To be honest, Brandon wasn't sure which, but whichever it was, he was doing it. Brandon couldn't recall the last time there were actually two ladies in his life, around him, that he actually liked. Whose feelings he actually cared about. When Allie left, he'd been pretty fucking devastated. He'd cared about her more than he'd cared about any woman in a long-ass time, and she just up and left like he'd been nothing, He got the whole 'family first' thing. Got that Ollie was more important than Brandon in the long run. But he'd figured he'd at least get the chance to convince her to stay. Still, of course, now she was back. Now that he had sort-of-feelings for someone else. Maddie was pretty fucking terrific. And she got him, in a sort of different way than Allie did. She got his sense of humor, hated all the people he hated for pretty much the reasons he hated them, and actually seemed to appreciate him for who he was, fuck-ups and all. There was something between them, more or less, it was just a matter of who acknowledged it. If one of them did. And right when that happened, there Allie was. It was probably a shitty idea for a ton of different reasons, for Brandon to have agreed to meet with her like this. But it would be good to see her. And without her brother, she needed to see a familiar face that wasn't one with the Judgmental Crowd of Popularity. At least that was what Brandon figured. So, casting aside the giant neon sign flashing “Detour: Any Other Woman in Existence,” and Mike's warning, in his head, he had agreed to meet up with her here. The bottle of booze in his hand was probably an even shittier idea. Drinking together was why she'd ended up leaving in the first place. But in a situation like this, Brandon was more useless sober than he was drunk, so he'd brought it along. Now all that was missing was Allie. |
