"Yeah, I get that. I used to travel by rooftop in the city all the time," she explained, her mind, as usual, taunting her with an Elliot-related memory; this time the first time they met. She shook it off as quickly as possible, hoping it had gone unnoticed. "Fire escapes are the quickest method, but..." she shrugged, "too dangerous." And she chucked. "Don't worry, no high places for this girl for at least a few more months. Scouts honor," she held the Girl Scouts symbol in the air for emphasis.
A tiny laugh escaped unbidden at Silas' colorful language when he described the stinky man, the one Rae had dubbed Cheese Man back when they were staying in Grand Central. She was used to cursing; she was best friends with Rory, after all. And she was friendly with Leah now, and had been with Charlie and Rodeo as well. It mostly rolled off her shoulder, unless it was directed at her. "We used to call him Cheese Man, back when we were staying in Grand Central. My friend Allie and I once had this secret plan to sneak up behind him and assault him with her perfume collection." She shook her head at the memory. "We decided pretty quickly that it wasn't a good idea when we realized we'd have to get close enough to smell him. Maybe I can hire someone to hogtie him and throw him in the showers. Or you can just beat him with your cane. Whichever."
She nodded her head. "Yeah, something like that." She agreed with him, putting a hand on her protruding tummy when Little One gave his usual protest at her being out of bed so late. Add that to the reasons this sojourn was a bad idea. She thought carefully about his addition to the evolving zombies concept. "I hope so too. The last thing we need is some kind of Super Leaper or Super Climber that can scale the walls of this place..." she added. "Or anything bigger than a Smasher. I can't even imagine."
Her hands folded over her tummy as she listened to him, her thumbs rubbing it to ease Little One's moving fit. "Lucky for that, hm?" she asked arbitrarily, then tilted her head when he explained what his winter plans were. "There's plenty of space. Barely anyone's in Block E, so maybe you'll still have the privacy you have on your boat." Part of her felt guilty for inhabiting a big room on her own now, but she'd need the bigger room soon.
"Sebastian. Right," she'd forgotten about him, momentarily. "I'm pregnant, not made of glass." Her tone was light, but still serious as she defended herself. "I only got stung once when I was over there before. Helena taught me a lot of stuff. But I should probably leave it to Sebastian. He knows what he's doing."
