Okay. Things were looking up, sort of. Leah had agreed to move into his room with him, and he couldn't describe how amazing it would be, having them staying with him. Even though the apartment was small, since he'd moved his things out and into storage, it had felt sort of empty. Having them around all the time was... well, it was welcome.
He'd finished putting the things from their painting lesson away; Marigold's picture, and all of the larger clumps of paint she'd put on it, was still drying on the desk. And Evan would probably unashamedly hang the pony and princess picture on the wall, no matter what people would say about it. Everyone knew about his relationship with Leah. That meant that everyone probably knew that he was close with Marigold, too. At least he hoped so. Evan and Leah's own pictures were in frames, ready to go up on the wall when Marigold's was dry.
When he heard the knock on the door, he'd just finished dabbing at a blob of pink paint with his finger to see how dry it was, and ended up having to reach down and wipe it on his jeans when it came back somewhat pink. Not ready yet, he thought, turning his attention to the door.
"Coming!"
As the door opened to reveal his sister, he smiled. He didn't notice the game in her arm right away, instead smiled at her. "Salut, Georgie. To what to I owe the pleasure?" he asked, stepping out of the way so that she could come in.
