WHERE: The Four Horsemen
WHEN: Evening
RATING: There will be language. xP
STATUS: In Progress
After Elliot's unexpected attempt to heal her wounds, Rory was even more eager to drag Brandon along for that promised nightcap. She wasn't even that fond of the bar that had cropped up first at the Library, and then here at Sing Sing, but this would make two visits in one week. Rory refused to acknowledge there was a problem with that. She refused to acknowledge that she was burying herself deeper in the mess of denial she was creating, and she sure as hell wasn't acknowledging how she was seemingly determined to burn all her bridges before she ever got a chance to admit to what she'd done back at that facility.
Until she figured out how to tell someone, anyone, that she'd killed a person, that that was what had her so brutally far from her normal self, Rory wasn't going to get any better. But she couldn't admit to that either. Whenever someone asked, she assured them she was on the mend. Slowly but surely healing from the whole ordeal she'd gone through with her son and Rae.
After backing away from her work in the infirmary, Rory found her way to the bar, took a table and a seat, placed two beers on cardboard coasters, and settled into the idea that she was only half as shattered as she really was. She looked the part, plain garb and her hair pulled sloppily back as always. But as she waited for her friend to arrive, Rory started wondering if this would make things worse somehow, and from there, it was a downward spiral of uncertain, unpleasant thoughts. Was she just going to push Brandon away too?
In her mind, she knew she would only be worse off if that happened, but it kept happening. She kept letting it happen, like she had no control. Except that wasn't it, not exactly. Seeking control was her problem. She'd lost it when they were taken, and taking it back only helped when you went about it the right way. Something Rory decidedly needed some help on.
