Re: The Eulogies | 5pm - 5:30
Alicia had debated with herself on whether she'd say anything. But, after speaking with Linda Towler earlier in the service it was requested that she say a few words when the time came. Then when Hannah offered the floor Kenneth's mother squeezed her hand to initiate some sort of silent message to go on. Standing first she made her way to the front of the room - running her hands along the podium her brain raced with what to say and how to say it without completely deteriorating into a puddle.
"The first time I met Kenny was during the sorting ceremony in 1st year. He was sorted into Gryffindor right after me ... well, not right after considering it took forever for the sorting hat to figure him out. But... once we shook hands we just kind of clicked. Always did. He had the weirdest sense of humour so naturally we had some of the most ridiculous inside jokes - but we worked. And I think for a time we were the two most politically incorrect Gryffindors you ever saw - and that's saying something..." a small chuckle left her as she continued.
"He was my first friend away from home. My first ... everything actually, and even after we weren't romantically connected he was one of my very best friends. Even if he was damn good at his job as a blood sucking lawyer he was...loyal and kind... and he'll always be family. And he'll always be loved by everyone who truly knew him. Because you can't forget someone like Kenneth Towler" A hand came to wipe at the variety of tears streaming down her face. Her tone, however, remained strong as she continued. "I hope he's in a better place-- at least for their sakes, because if it's not up to his standards they'll have to deal with his ace arguing skills and that damn cheeky smile." She offered a sad smile and nodded before stepping down and moving to a spot along the wall behind a small gathering of people where she could properly breathe and wipe away the waterworks that didn't seem to stop. She'd lost interest in sitting with the Towlers - it suddenly hurt too much.
